Just one of those places you'll want to add to your bucket list, because there's so much more than just sun, sea, and sand. An abundance of culture, nature, mountains, swamps, deserts, everything in between, and yes, even an abundance of delicious food. Voilà, the best neighborhoods and restaurants to match in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
By far our favorite neighborhood and therefore a great recommendation to stay during your visit to Rio de Janeiro is Ipanema: a trendy neighborhood, but also safe and vibrant With trendy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere, you won't be bored here. Do you enjoy browsing boutiques, cozy bars, and interesting shops? Then you'll feel right at home here.
Grab a caipirinha from a classic truck and enjoy a breathtaking sunset on Aproador Rock, shop in the charming streets of Ipanema, or stroll through the hippie market (Feira Hippie) on Sundays. For a surf lesson or a day at the beach, Posto 9 is the best place to be.
Le Pulê: Near Ipanema and craving delicious food, tasty wine, friendly service, and a charming interior? A local favorite. Not over the top, just good. The Pulê it is.
ZáZá Bistro: Another great place in Ipanema is ZáZá Bistro - AndA mix of Moroccan and Asian cuisine with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options—we're fans! Take a seat on the cozy veranda and you'll be cozy for the rest of the evening.

Solo: You can get a delicious breakfast, Brazilian coffee, lunch or snack at SoloA chain, but one with class. They also have multiple locations, but the ones in Ipanema and Leblon certainly don't disappoint.
Chic, charming, quiet, and safe. Similar to Ipanema, but a bit more for the "luxury-conscious." We're talking about Leblon, a luxurious and safe neighborhood with class, fancy shops, and a haven for locals, families, and celebrities. This is the neighborhood for cocktails and fine dining at one of the many hotspots on Rua Dias Ferreira, Leblon.
Nola Restaurante: In the well-known street of Rua Dias Ferreira lies Nola RestauranteBreakfast is great, but it's best to linger or come back for dinner. It's promising.
The blondBelieve it or not, a French bistro is also a must in Rio de Janeiro. One like The blond You'll definitely want to add this to your list. Freshly pressed, a lovely wine (walk-in) cabinet, and friendly service.

Fastro: You can find plenty of places to eat here throughout the day. From coffee to go, to breakfast, to dinner – and everything in between. Fastro; small, but nice.
Iconic and vibrant, that's Copacabana. World-famous for its beach and mosaic boulevard, it's always buzzing with activity. Athletes, musicians, vendors, food trucks, locals, and tourists. Nothing is too crazy, and everyone is perfectly themselves.
Forte 18 de Copacabana: A wonderful spot on the water, near the old Copacabana Fort, with views of the sea and the city. Romantic, idyllic, and historic all at once. Forte 18 de Copacabana. You might have to wait a bit for a table by the water, but make the most of it. Walk around the fort or settle down on a bench and enjoy the beautiful view. The food is delicious.
Beach cafe: Honestly, this place is definitely a must-try during your visit to Rio: Beach Cafe In Parque Lage, located in Rio de Janeiro's botanical garden. A picture. Literally. And the portions are generous, too. Well, some people only come for the "perfect picture," so we certainly don't. Definitely worth it, even if it's just for a refreshing drink.
