The idea came from Emma Horner, a Muizenberg local since the sea stole her heart. When she's not on her board, you can find her outdoors: mountain biking, camping, anything that requires fresh air and exercise. And if that's not enough, Emma also works as a clinical dietitian in both a government and private hospital.

But even for an ocean lover like Emma, ​​the step to the backline was daunting. Surfing can be intimidating, especially in a lineup often dominated by men who have long mastered the game. From the beach, she watched her partner (Western Province longboarder, no less) catch the waves, while she mainly thought: I want that tooThat familiar surf itch had to go somewhere.
