Of course it's all about saying yes, love and the people with whom you celebrate the most beautiful day of your life. But the eye also wants something, just like the stomach. And that is why - or so we think - the table where people sit, eat, talk and laugh (and who knows, even cry) is at least as important as, say, the dress and the rings.
Where to start? Simple: at the beginning: the invitations. You can cut and paste yourself for this, but why would you: Cotton Bird has an amazing collection ready where you - idiot-proof, promised - the most beautiful invitations customized based on one of the existing Cotton Bird themes (note: there are so many!). Of course we understand that you would like one classy, a bit of a subdued table on De Dag. After all, so much is already happening and of course everything must (may) also revolve around the food, the guests and all the nice words. Moreover, you may have ensured that the table is full of goodies in no time. Well, then you better make sure the basis is good. For a classic table, choose a classic Cotton Bird theme, such as Elderberry with gold. Classic and therefore always a good choice. If you combine that with an equally classic base, you actually keep two key words in mind: white linen and beautiful, luxurious tableware. Now 'beautiful' is of course a broad concept, but always choose tableware that is timeless and 'body' has a nice pattern, a bit thicker than your usual tableware or with relief. When those things are chosen, spice you can create a maximum of three 'spot colours' and stick to them - this way it remains a calm, classic and timeless table, but completely contemporary. For example, choose two colors that are close to each other (such as blue and green, or red and pink) and complement them with a contrast color, such as yellow.
The third magic word is 'multiplicity': the power of a beautifully set table is repetition. The same plates, the same napkins, the same cutlery, multiple menus everywhere and... matching name tags. Make sure that the gold on your menu is reflected somewhere, such as in the cutlery, or else a gold rim on your (wine) glasses. And if you have an item that you want to stand out, choose a different color just for that. For example, the envelope in which you keep your speech or the box of the ring.

First a number of important basic rules that apply to everyone wedding tablestyling: 1) make sure you have a clear image in mind and don't deviate from it. Otherwise it will be a mess anyway... 2) Think in layers by stacking plates and placing different glasses on the table (champagne, red, white, water): that is not only practical, but the layering and height differences make the table also interesting. 3) Keep it practical! More (grand) styling items is fine, but there should also be room for food and fun. So never make things too complicated, as this will have an adverse effect.
- You can buy about 10 lemons with leaves at the market for about 40 euros. You place this in a long line across the table for one instant Italian wedding feeling, matching the golden leaves on the it Cotton Bird Quillberry menu. You can of course also replace the lemons with hydrangeas or pomegranates (also nicely cut open).
- The devil is in the details: Firework sparklers are fun, but even more fun when they also come with a personal card. A bottle of wine on the table is cozy, but even more cozy when it even has a personal label on it. The same applies to the streamers on the wall and a nice quote from the bridal couple in the toilet.
- If you do not opt for an extensive seven-course dinner, but for alternating courses between which you walk and walk,miggled is possible, choose stools (or a long bench) instead of chairs. This ensures that people are much more likely to pull up a stool to have a chat with the other person: fun!
- Tablecloth change: different course/different time of the day? Just by changing the tablecloth from white to a print fabric, your entire look changes setting, even if everything else remains exactly the same (the same applies to the change from a candlestick to a field bouquet: small difference, big effect).
- Ribbon! Make sure you always have beautiful, rich, shiny ribbon at hand: this will also fix any table styling failure in an instant. And it is also basically an indispensable styling item: a name card with a gold-colored ribbon on a simple one champagne flute gives a great effect.

Surround yourself with white linen: on the table, above the table. Of course whole stylish in a beautiful industrial or modern indoor location, but great in a green outdoor location with a light summer breeze. Ohhh lala!

Art on the table is certainly not just flowers, candles and beautiful tableware. Decorate your table with the most beautiful menus, napkins and other beautiful works of art or objects. Vary from printed on beautiful sturdy paper to hand-painted.

If you really have some hours to spare, or have an uncle or aunt who is into needlework, consider personalizing a tablecloth with details from your wedding! Names, moments, figures – everything that symbolizes your relationship.
If you ask us, the idea that your tablecloth should form a peaceful base for your table is absolutely not black. With a statement dress in a distinctive print or color(s) combination, you go for an eclectic WOW effect. Mix and match the same shades or patterns with your tableware, napkins and other table accessories.

Why only go for flowers when you can also put (small) trees on the table. We are in love with these citrus trees and the contrast with the colors of the flowers on the table. Varying in size and height gives a nice playful effect. Do you want to spice things up a bit? spice? Then go for red pepper or small pepper plants.

We think it is a huge taboo that black should not be allowed at weddings. Is color at your wedding not your thing? Then go for a timeless black and white cool. Classic, but with matte black crockery and cutlery that contrasts beautifully with a white rug, yet also modern. We love this minimalist one setting. Keep the white (or white-black) combination of flowers a bit light and playful, that's how you keep it minimal and it does not become stiff. Very sophisticated. if you ask us.
