New restaurants in Den Bosch: This is the definitive Barts Boekje list

We had actually been keeping this list for a while. for Amsterdam and for Rotterdam, but we can finally do the same for Den Bosch. For it was quite quiet for a while regarding new hospitality venues in Den Bosch, but now it seems like things are (finally!) happening again. A number of new establishments are opening with a breath of fresh air. It was about time. Well, these are the new restaurants in Den Bosch.

Coming soon!

Coming soon!

Okay! There is still something on the list that we have to wait just a little while for. If you don't want to wait, scroll down for what is already open. Curious what you have to wait for? Well, this:

  • The people behind Pizzabar Deeg are opening a new Spanish establishment in the building where le VIN 'x used to be. Thijs Böcker and Nicky and Merijn Smeulders received the keys in April. loma and then take about three months for a renovation. Spanish, but no tapas or pintxos for lunch and dinner. And live music!
  • And at Eetbar de Stadt Something is about to happen too, or well, not there, but definitely coming from them.

That's Focaccia (June 18, 2026)

That's Focaccia (June 18, 2026)

You can now get Italian focaccia just like in Italy, right here in Den Bosch. That's Focaccia is the new focaccia shop on Hinthamereinde in Den Bosch.

Behind the business are Italian friends Alessia Campagnoli and Valentina Nordera, who moved to the Netherlands last year and are now pursuing their dream: introducing the people of Den Bosch to Italian focaccia. Not the pizza-like variety we often know here, but the version you get at a local focacceria in Italy. The ingredients come directly from Italy, and alongside various focaccias, the menu features classics such as tiramisu, cannoli, and Italian espresso. Here you will find richly topped focaccias with truffle cream, prosciutto, and stracciatella, among other toppings.

For now, you can stop by for takeout, but eventually the ladies hope to grow into a cozy lunch spot where you can just as easily linger for an espresso as for an extensive focaccia lunch.

Dodici: sandwich shop (June 2026)

Dodici: sandwich shop (June 2026)

The signs have been hanging outside for a while, but the sandwich shop, which also has a location in Utrecht, is now open in Den Bosch as well. Dodici on Visstraat is the place bringing us a little closer to Italy this summer.

Dodici means 'twelve' in Italian, a reference to the time lunch starts and to the number of sandwiches on the menu. Olivia (23) came up with the idea for schiacciate: crispy, airy Tuscan focaccia, generously topped with Italian cured meats and cheeses. Tried & testedThey are delicious.

On top of that, there is nice art on the walls and the staff is friendly. We know where we’ll be getting our (hangover) sandwiches from now on.

Garden of Earthly Delights | May 21 to June 21

Garden of Earthly Delights | May 21 to June 21

Okay, not a new restaurant, but temporarily the nicest sunny terrace in Den Bosch. But actually, Tuin der Lusten on the Zuid-Willemsvaart near the Citadel is so much more than just a delightful waterside terrace. It is a breeding ground for contemporary art, performance, and the joy of socializing, connected to the larger art and water festival Bosch Parade.
You can discover floating works of art and watch artists at work from your lazy beach chair. There are also sunny terraces, plenty of food and drink (ten points for the sort of cheese soufflé with coffee crumble and honey), and space to unwind. The Garden of Delights is free for everyone to enter.

Beekveld Sandwich

Beekveld Sandwich

Pizza Beppe (opening May 2026)

Pizza Beppe (opening May 2026)

jaaaa all-time favorite Pizza Beppe came to Den Bosch! You come to Hinthamerstraat for authentic Neapolitan pizza. The pizza restaurant, located in the old building of chicken restaurant Vrienden, seats 88 people. And why another pizzeria in town? Well, Pizza Beppe was the first to receive the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana seal of approval. This promotes and protects traditional Neapolitan pizza, ensuring, for example, that San Marzano tomatoes and fior di latte are used. Delicious!

The menu isn't extensive, with twenty pizzas and a handful of desserts and starters, but the dough is handmade. We are curious about the Beppe Tuna Deluxe with caviar.

The Bistro (by Faran): open mid-May 2026

The Bistro (by Faran): open mid-May 2026

Our favorite restaurant? That is Faran. We jumped for joy when we heard they were opening a bistro, because the city was still missing a really good bistro. Just a street away, on the Bossche Guardianenhof, the restaurant opened in May. Restaurant Dell Angelo was located here for years.

The bistro has a new head chef and seats around sixty guests, double the capacity of Faran. It features a mosaic floor, round and square tablecloths with linen, and a large clock, just like in many Parisian bistros. You can order à la carte or give the chef free rein. And good news: a Faran classic has returned: steak tartare with smoked bone marrow.

Wine Bar Flor and Restaurant Jaune (open from May)

Wine Bar Flor and Restaurant Jaune (open from May)

We are really looking forward to this! Because the names that opened wine bar Flor and Restaurant June are certainly not insignificant. Chef Nik Tonglet (36) and sommelier Lorenzo van Doorn (37) are starting their own business in the old Fabuleux building on Verwersstraat. Two residents of Den Bosch with serious international experience.

Tonglet worked at the world-famous Noma in Copenhagen, among others, and interned at The Test Kitchen in Cape Town, after which he earned a Bib Gourmand at De Houtloods in the Netherlands. Van Doorn earned his stripes as a sommelier with star chef François Geurds and worked in Australia for many years before returning to Brabant and working at Vigor and Benjamin, among others.

Together, they took over the characteristic building with its long marble hallway and high, ornate ceilings. At the front sits the wine bar with around 36 seats, where you can enjoy classic and natural wines (from €40 to €100 per bottle), specialty beers, and a small menu of snacks and charcuterie. At the back, you will soon find the restaurant, where they serve a six-course menu for under €80. Expect seasonal dishes with a starring role for vegetables, with room for variation here and there. The style? “Fun dining,” as Tonglet calls it: good food without being too heavy or stiff.

Noble Kitchen continued as Nami from May 2.

Noble Kitchen continued as Nami from May 2.

Okay, close to Den Bosch then, but still hot news. In the domain of Bernardus Golf & Wine The fine dining destination is getting a new name and direction. Michelin-starred Noble Kitchen continued as Nami from May 2.

Under the leadership of the chef Tom Schoonus The restaurant explicitly opts for a Nikkei signature: a cuisine where Japanese precision and South American influences come together. With refined techniques, crisp flavors, and dishes that balance freshness, umami, and fire. Schoonus knows the establishment inside out; he has been working in the kitchen since 2018 and took over the management together with Nina Kaalverink at the beginning of this year.

The new direction builds on the foundation of Noble Kitchen, which has held a Michelin star since 2020. The recognizable elements—sushi, robata, and distinctive sauces—remain, but are given a clearer profile with more focus and its own signature.

The name Nami, Japanese for 'golf', subtly refers to the location on the golf course as well as to the rhythm of the overall experience. The space itself also received an update. Designer Pieter Laureys gave the restaurant a quieter, more intimate character that better suits the refinement of the new cuisine.

At the same time, the adjacent Bernardus Café is also being repositioned. With an accessible, international menu, it will henceforth target a broader audience, from lunch to a more casual dinner.

's-More (open beginning of April)

's-More (open beginning of April)

's-More has opened in the old Groene Kost building at Anthonius van Alpenstraat 14. You read that right: that is a new one in the Muntel! Open every week from Tuesday to Saturday. Run by Jop van Buul (27) and Nina Janssen (26), the couple who came up with the name 's-More after two bottles of wine. less is more it had to be, which points to Van Buul's cooking style. According to him, a dish should have no more than five components.

The lowercase 's is a nod to 's-Hertogenbosch. His parents run the Emma Molen restaurant in Nieuwkuijk, and she initially pursued a sports education. In Den Bosch, Janssen worked at Jack's Foodbar on Brede Haven, among other places, where the Nevel restaurant is now located.
They do not plan to hire a full-time colleague. This way, they want to keep prices affordable. That is also why they do not operate in the city center. In the neighborhoods outside the center, fixed costs are somewhat lower, says the head chef.

Park (open from late March)

Park (open from late March)

We were happy with the arrival of Restaurant Park on KolperstraatIn the building formerly occupied by Visch, the owners of Buurt are opening this new bar and restaurant. Low-key, a great place to hang out, lunch, dinner—another nice and easy concept. If you can't find us this coming weekend, from now on you know where we’ll be hanging out.

The menu mainly features comfort food as it was meant to be, but next level. There is a bar bites menu with simple dishes like cauliflower buffalo wings, cheesy onion rings, and bagel lox sliders. Okay, that doesn't sound *that* simple after all.

Next up are hearty lunch classics and dinner dishes you just want to order: from a Reuben sandwich and crawfish roll to steak tartare, miso cod, and a double smashburger. And just when you think you're done, grab that truffle mac 'n cheese as a side and finish with a boozy milkshake. Can't wait!

Loff as a new energy tap (March 2026)

Loff as a new energy tap (March 2026)

Nothing radical, but certainly new energy at Loff and Tappunt. Resident of Den Bosch Rick van Santen (35), known from Hello my Friend in the Uilenburg, is taking a big next step. Since February he has been (together with Bart Derks of Pilkington's) co-owner of both Loff and Tappunt on Minderbroedersplein.

What started with street food and cocktail workshops at Hello my Friend is now expanding into a broader hospitality empire in the city. Loff (±60 seats) and Tappunt (±30) will largely remain as they are, including the Big Green Egg barbecue dishes and the extensive beer menu, but will receive an upgrade in appearance, particularly on the terrace. Small tweaks, not a complete overhaul.

The passage between the two establishments remains, so soon you will simply be able to combine your beer at Tappunt with dishes from Loff's kitchen.
