Top apartments in Porto – sleep like a local.

When traveling it is wonderful to behave like one, every now and then local. How? In your 'own' apartment or house, of course. Shopping and cooking yourself. Stand up and shamelessly throw your underwear into the corner. That. There were tips for this from Team Bart Porto to explore, and where to sleep like one local. In style, of course. – that also saves searching on the interweb. Oh, and if you do go, we have here tips where to eat.

Virtudes Loft

This brand new apartment on Rua das Taipas, right in the center, is located on the top floor of a historic building. Everything can be reached on foot from here. The Douro River is just around the corner and the Port wine cellars and many nice restaurants on Rua das Flores are also nearby. From the modern and cozy furnished apartment you have a view of the D. Luiz Bridge. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and there is a large one Smart TV with Netflix, but you really won't have time for that! You can check in yourself via codes and a safe.

Vitória over the roofs

Vitória over the roofs

In the middle of the historic heart of Porto you will find Airbnb studio Vitória over the roofs. In the studio you will find everything you need, from a stove, coffee maker and cutlery to a dishwasher and hairdryer. You sleep on the first floor and from the balcony you look out over the city and the cathedral. You should come here for the fantastic view alone. Although you might think that there is a lot of noise pollution because of the location, it is not that bad. Rua da Vitória is a quiet street, from which all highlights are a five-minute walk away, as is the train station. You can also check in yourself at this studio.

Do you like a stylish house? Then this is your man with the house. The JF Apartment in Porto has undergone extensive renovation and is now the proud owner of beautiful products designed by not the least: Arne Jacobsen, Steen Ostergaard, Percival Lafer, Charles and Ray Eames. The whole thing looks beautiful and, importantly, the guests who have slept here are nothing but satisfied.

Authentic Stay Rosario

Authentic Stay Rosario

This apartment. Holy. When can we move in? The building is almost bursting at the seams with old elements. Too beautiful. Then a sleek interior with simple but oh-so-beautiful details to compliment all that old opulence. And then there is also a nice, flexible host, many say. Just books.

Oporto Wish

Oporto Wish

These landlords take it seriously: they have no fewer than four apartments for rent and they all have their own nice thing. What they all have in common are beautiful details, spacious and airy rooms and in the middle of the city, everything for a relaxing weekend away. The hostess will answer all your questions and if she is in a good mood, she will also pour you a glass of port.

Is white and wood really your thing? Then do this. There is a patio and the apartment is from the same landlords as Authentic Stay, Rosário: nothing but praise for these apartments. So much space and light, beautiful interior, fine details – just go. The tips from the landlords are also we point, so you don't have to miss anything in Porto.

Authentic Stay – Santa Teresa.

In a slightly quieter area, but around the corner from the lively center, you will find Coreto 179. A ten-minute walk between the center and your bed. Pretty fine. The apartment looks cozy out. You can sleep there for three people, but honestly we think that would be just too much cozy is becoming.

Rosa et Al Townhouse

Rosa et Al Townhouse

Rosa et Al Townhouse is the ideal hotel for a weekend or (mid) week away. The small hotel, or as they say, the mansion, is hidden in one of Porto's artistic districts, where you will find art galleries and art studios. Wonderful to wander around here after lazing in your bed all morning. Definitely a favourite. Read more here.

Casa de Serralves

Casa de Serralves

Speaking of art, Casa Serralves is definitely worth a visit. This prettier-than-pretty pink villa in a pretty park in Porto was originally built for Count Carlo Albertos Cabral and has now become a museum of modern art. Unfortunately you can't sleep there (too bad), but you can take a look at the original bedrooms and wander through the rest of the house. You can also visit the museum, chill in the beautiful park or drink tea in the tea house.
