We all know that nature in France is beautiful. Beneath the seemingly beautiful nature lies... even more beautiful nature. In France you can always delve a little further into the country and discover new beautiful landscapes. In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes there is also plenty of natural beauty to discover. We start with the volcanoes of Auvergne. In the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park you will find the beautiful green dormant volcanoes. From The Puy de Dome you look out over the 80 volcanoes Chain of volcanic hills. Climbing, walking, breathing and enjoying comes first. You really don't have to fly halfway around the world for this kick, but it is simply accessible by car.

On to the Rhone valley, along which you can cycle - or by car - along historic villages, lavender fields and a nice portion of rocks. You will also receive the beauty of the Rhône River and the delicacies of this wine region. Go past medieval villages Drome en Montelimar, the vibrant Vienna en Valencia and the towns along the river as Tournon sur Rhone. And the unique Palais Ideal. Discovering new places every day. What's not to like. While you are in the region, also enjoy the natural parks Parc Vercours, Barronies en Ardèche mountains.

If you have had enough nature (can we ever do that?) then there are of course also cities in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. One of them is Lyon. And late Lyon have been focusing on for years now sustainability. Urban development, restaurants and shops are always striving to become more sustainable. And Lyon is at the top of the French cities in terms of sustainability. Lyon has Furthermore, a beautiful historic center, museums such as Confluence Museum en Juldunum. And if you are in a sustainable city, go to one of them the many green restaurants to eat. Add local wine and we've had our share of enjoyment.

Are you going to travel around the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes then it is of course wonderful to see where you end up. Via Esprit Nattitude you can find tons of accommodations. From sleeping at a wine grower to a chateau. You can also do it on the road Volca Lodges look up. These wooden cabins with nice views may even make you stay a little longer than you planned. The same goes for the cabins Les Cabanes du Bois Basalte. These are a bit more modern, but the surrounding nature is just as addictive.
