The British are not averse to a night out. John On almost every street corner you can find a cozy and cozy pub for a drink, but London is also bursting with alternative options for an evening out. These are the addresses you probably haven't thought of yet...

RONNIE SCOTT'S

RONNIE SCOTT'S

If you like jazz this is definitely the place to go. Ronnie Scott's opened its doors in 1959 and has since become London's most famous jazz club. Downstairs there is a stage for performances and upstairs there is the sultry and intimate bar Upstairs @ Ronnie Scott's. All you have to do is climb a flight of stairs and you will be taken to another place, where time seems to stand still and where jazz music creates a good atmosphere. Not only is this bar suitable for a drink and a chat, there are also plenty of evenings where you can get your feet wet.

MONTY'S BAR

MONTY'S BAR

If you walk past it wouldn't be the first place you walk into, but Monty's Bar is still my go-to pub when I'm in Shoreditch. The relaxed atmosphere and great crowd make this a great starting point for a night out or a date night. It is certainly not the most beautiful or chic bar, it rather has something rough about it and that makes it the perfect accessible place for a drink. Cocktails or a beer with the locals of Shoreditch are a regular occurrence here. Moreover, Bagel Bake — the best bagel shop in London — is a few doors away, so the midnight snack is also arranged immediately.

POP BRIXTON

POP BRIXTON

The temporary project Pop Brixton has become a household name in London. Not surprising, because this place is one of a kind. Containers form the basis of the building, in which you will find bars and shops from local entrepreneurs. The terrace, which is decorated with cozy lights and large plants, has more than enough picnic tables for large groups. At this place you can really enjoy yourself all day long with the versatile program they offer. Think of DJs, free activities for children, open-mic afternoons and you can even go here for yoga and sports competitions.

THE COMEDY STORE

THE COMEDY STORE

Don't feel like going to a bar or disco? We present you: The Comedy Store! You will find this comedy club in the heart of the city, in a side street of Leicester Square. An evening of laughter never hurts and the diverse program has something for everyone: from open mic evenings to discover new talent to improvisation evenings. You can also go here for a bite to eat before or during the show.

AIN'T NOTHING BUT... THE BLUES BAR

AIN'T NOTHING BUT... THE BLUES BAR

In a side street of Regent Street you will find the mysterious Blues Bar. It is a dark and intimate bar illuminated with neon lights. Audiences of all ages dance to live music from the city's talented musicians. No dress code or frills, but good music and a nice atmosphere; you don't need more.
