Get the best coffee (and breakfast) at these spots in Barcelona

The choice is huge. This also applies to the metropolis Barcelona. But apart from the standard coffee chains, sometimes people want something more. A slightly better cup of coffee. Here is a list that you can take with you. Often with something tasty, because on an empty stomach you can't explore the city. These are the best spots for coffee (and breakfast) in Barcelona.

More Barcelona tips? Ok, we have.

Amo Brunch & Wine

Amo Brunch & Wine

At Amo Brunch & Wine you can enjoy brunch seven days a week and wine. The place is small but nice, centrally located (less than a ten-minute walk from the Sagrada Familia) and serves something for everyone. Meat and vegetarian(s), healthy and just a little less healthy.

The menu is filled with classics (there is still little better than a good one, with perfectly poached eggs and avocado toast) and with Slavic specialties such as Syrniki, a kind of pancakes based on cottage cheese that are served with fruit and yoghurt. The drinks menu is also full of special drinks. Mint chocolate latte, Bubblegum cocktail, Aperol with strawberries... Definitely delicious if you like it cloyingly sweet, but we went for the espresso tonic. Very simple, very tasty. It won't be long before this drink appears on Amsterdam's menus even more often. And until then, you can easily make it at home. Or drink at Amo.

Sr. Brown

Sr. Brown

Brown on the outside, brown on the inside. At Sr. Brown, brown is the name of the game. The focus is also on brown drinks: coffee and chocolate milk. They also serve various lemonades, specials and gluten-free desserts. So there are few distractions, maybe that's why they are so good at what they do. less is more, but not when it comes to flavors. You wouldn't expect it, but seaweed, algae and caramel go surprisingly well together in a drink.

Forno Bomba

Forno Bomba

Hip and delicious. That's Forno Bomba in Sants. And in particular the bomba rellena de crema de pistacchio. A mouthful, literally. You can't eat such a large profiteroles in one go. Fortunately, because then you can enjoy it for extra long. Forno Bomba is Italian, so the espressos and ristrettos are also good. Just like the wine, because they have that too. With a bomba you already lay a good foundation.

How are you going to remember all these places? No. That's why we've collected them, along with more great places in Barcelona, on this map. No reason.

ONIS COFFEE

ONIS COFFEE

At ONIS COFFEE you drink your coffee in a classic interior. The old-fashioned wall with golden frames and classic art is a star on the Instagram feed of many coffee drinkers. The coffee? Delicious! Perhaps that's why it's already gone before it can be put on the gram. It probably also has to do with the fact that the coffee here is made with beans from Three Marks Coffee, more about that later.

Oz Bakery

Oz Bakery

The person who makes the bread and pastries at Oz Bakery is a real wizard. At this bakery on one of the most pleasant squares in Gràcia they sell (sourdough) bread, richly filled sandwiches, croissants and other savoury and sweet snacks. The brookie, a mix between a brownie and a cookie, is highly recommended. Coffee with your cookie? They have that too. Oz also has a branch in Sarrià, but that one is (in our opinion) slightly less good.

Funky Bakers, Eatery and Deli

Funky Bakers, Eatery and Deli

We can't think of a happier name. When you open their Instagram, your mouth will water. In addition to delicious coffee, there is a large list of breakfast dishes to choose from. Or for a small appetite, just the tastiest croissants and other Danish pastrys. They're aiming at you home away from home. And we can totally agree with that. Funky has three locations. So not to be missed.

Orval Studio

Orval Studio

In a quiet spot, yet close to the Arc de Triomf and the Parc de la Ciutadella, lies Orval Studio. Their slogan is “where creators meet coffee” and fits in perfectly with the interior and the audience. LPs on the wall, graffiti on the wall and lots of Gen Z'ers. The best place to sit is on the stools in front of the door in the sun, but when it doesn't shine you can also sit comfortably on the second floor.

T.44 (Talaut 44)

T.44 (Talaut 44)

T.44, short for Talaut 44, is one of the most aesthetic cafés in Poblenou. Lots of white; white tables, a white brick wall and white stools. Besides good coffee and pastries, they also serve various brunch dishes. On stainless steel tableware, because that's what you do when you are or want to be hip in 2025. There are various vegetarian and vegan options and it is even possible to create your own toast. The place is popular, so you may have to wait in line for a while.

Three Marks Coffee

Three Marks Coffee

A concept in Barcelona and now also beyond. Because Three Marks travels through Europe with their bean, machine and barista. From fair to fair and from competition to recognition. In Barcelona they have a café and a store+café. The team behind Three Marks is enormously talented and that is something that people want to experience in every world city. For example, there was recently a pop up/take over in Vienna.

It could well be that the concept of Saint Jean copied the mirror advertising board in front of the door from this one 😉

Three Marks Coffee

Pecora

Pecora

That Three Marks Coffee is a household name in the city is evident, because at Pècora the coffee is made with beans from Three Marks. Combined with sweets from Mas Meriendas, this makes Pècora a place you can't really walk into. The sage green frames of the glass facade are striking in any case. You have to do green.

Pure Bar

Pure Bar

At Pure Bar everything is pure and healthy. Here you can get a protein shake, smoothie or a healthy snack after (or before, a date is a good pre-workout snack) your workout. Not that only sports people are welcome, even if you have 'forgotten' your sportswear you can come in. Pure Bar is around the corner from Casa Milà, one of the less touristy Gaudí buildings that is worth visiting.

Changüi

Changüi

The step from coffee to wine is easily taken. At the tiny Changüi drink your coffee and (natural) wine. From nine in the morning until nine at night. Then the doors close and you have to move to another spot. No problem, after 12 o'clock you've probably had enough. Brunch is also possible at Changüi, from beautiful blue plates.

Bar La Camila

Bar La Camila

A big party at Bar La Camila. The building looks a bit like an old village pub - done right. You actually step back a few years in time, with brown tiles, steel bar stools and old-fashioned tableware. Yet Camila is hipper than hip and you can see that from the row of people hanging around under the awning. Both inside at the bar and outside you can drink your espresso and nibble on a croissant.

Raw Studio

Raw Studio

Raw Studio is a bright place in Sant Gervasi, one of the more upscale neighborhoods in the city. The place itself is a bit reminiscent of Scandinavia, and the fact that they serve Danish coffee fits in perfectly with the picture. Although the food is not cheap, it is also not nearly as expensive as in Denmark. At least as tasty. If possible, go there on the weekend, because that is when they have cinnamon buns. If there is no room inside, get something to go to drink or eat in the small Parc del Turó a little further on.

Tomorrow Coffee

Tomorrow Coffee

At Morrow Coffee they have good coffee, good cookies and good cake. And good sandwiches, but that didn't fit nicely in the list. By the way, they also sell that coffee for home, a different souvenir than a fridge magnet for a change. The shop is small and cozy, but with a bit of luck there is a table free outside. With even more luck you can also sit in the sun.

La Roseta

La Roseta

The most delicious pastries can be found at La Roseta. This place is a bit hidden if you don't know the area, but through their big brown doors you can't miss this hotspot. The staff here is known for their customer friendliness. Within a two minute walk you are at the beach. La Roseta is the perfect place to get your lunch, coffee and sweets after a whole morning of sunbathing.
