The perfect stay: Bea B&B in the Flemish Knokke-Heist
In any case, it is a treat to drive towards Knokke: you pass the white coastal houses of the rich, see the sea, smell the salty air and the old chic of the coastal town hangs in the air. There is no need to be bored on the road: counting Porsches is a great pastime. Things only get better when the accommodation address of the Belgian Bea Mombaers (remember that name) is the final station.
In a stylish villa farmhouse with thatched roof, in a green suburb of the seaside resort of Knokke - the chic Knokke-Le Zoute, a short walk to the sea - you will find the beautiful, eclectic guesthouse B&B Bea. The owner is Bea Mombaers who, in addition to her beautiful B&B, also runs interior design store Items. Bea's B&B is the showroom of that store: a series of art, vintage, iconic design pieces and designs by Bea's own hand. The shared loft-like living room, adjacent to the garden with swimming pool, is the ultimate climax.
There are three rooms. The Master Bedroom with a freestanding natural stone bath and a spacious private terrace. The Mezzanine Bedroom in which two floors, connected by a green iron spiral staircase, ensure that four people can sleep there. And the terrace Bedroom – French doors wide open, sink down on the flamingo pink chairs, do nothing about it anymore. In the large, cozy kitchen there is, as it should be in Burgundian Flanders, a salty influx of guests, friends and acquaintances. This is where the organic breakfast comes from the next morning, including Belgian chocolate spread. In love with one of the pieces in the B&B? Ask Bea and there's a good chance it's for sale. And otherwise it's the perfect place for inspiration.
