We don't blame you: sometimes you just don't feel like standing in the kitchen. Or you want to grab a quick lunch in between. We understand that completely. That's reason enough to best takeaway places in Utrecht to tip, because there are more than enough of them. Where you need to be for the tastiest to go meals you can read below. It is not Broodje Ben or Broodje Mario who, in our opinion, should take home the cup for the best sandwich in the center of Utrecht, Shadow is in our opinion the absolute winner. This Italian store in the Hardball Street specializes in the tastiest products from Italy – from wines to cheeses. Are they proud of that? Absolutely. And with all those delicious products, we agree with them.
A sandwich at Ombretta isn't just any sandwich. The owner asks what you like (anything!), then creates the perfect sandwich with delicious crunchy bread, lettuce, cheese and vegetables. Your boring brown sandwich with cheese is nothing compared to that.
For c are you on the Canal Street in Lombok at the right address. The street is full of bakeries where you can get dürüm, Turkish pizzas and sweet pastries. It is always very busy in the main street during the lunch break. One of our favorite addresses in Lombok is Surinamese Eatery Aarti.
For a meal at home or a quick bite to go you are more than welcome at Aarti. Their food is fresh and prepared with care, deliciously spicy and above all the ultimate c on a lazy day. Our favorite is 'roti vegetarian', but the menu has more than enough delicious things.
Fancy something sweet? In the centre of Utrecht you will find three different locations KEEK – a concept for the foodies Utrechter. At the organic bakery, shop and lunchroom you can go for coffee, homemade cake, bread and/or lunch. Whether you take it with you or eat it there is up to you.
All three locations are close to the Old Canal. So there is no need to walk far from the center. Just check which one is closest and off to KEEK for some fuel for your city walk. By fuel we mean cake of course.
For a poke bowl can you wake us up, especially for one of Poke Perfect. On a lazy day, there’s nothing better than creating your own bowl with everything you fancy and then patiently waiting for it to be delivered. We can’t imagine a better Sunday evening.
It is also fun to visit Poké Perfect in the city center of Utrecht (Korte Jansstraat 17-19) and then walk with your poke bowl towards the park for a Next Level picnic. Create your own poké bowl or choose one of the standard bowls, with plenty of choice for meat eaters, fish lovers, vegetarians and vegans.
Favorite in the Bird Neighborhood is a takeaway restaurant Fries & Fish, and we dare say with certainty that this is the best place for fish & chips in the Domstad. Fresh Flemish fries, quality fish and homemade sauces - are you hungry yet? We are not alone in our love for Friet&Visje and the friendly staff.
