Let's start with one of the highlights: vegetables take center stage in the hotel restaurant, The Green Room, but for those who prefer, there's also meat and fish. They use as many unprocessed, pure products as possible, and yes, they're incredibly delicious. Raw and fresh are the guiding principles of The Green Room. Everything is homemade and organic where possible. Long story short: very modern, very delicious.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a top priority: the hotel is completely gas-free, runs on electricity with heat pumps for an energy-efficient VRF system, and features solar panels. Cityhotel Wood has a Green Key Gold certification and is built with renewable materials.
At Restaurant The Green Room, sustainability extends to the plate with a no-waste policy. Breakfast leftovers are transformed into creative dishes (like croissant bread pudding), vegetables are used from top to bottom, and even pineapple cores are given a second life in homemade iced tea. At the bar, you can enjoy homemade lemonades and liqueurs, as well as fair-trade coffee from local roastery De Koepoort. The hotel also makes an impact outside the hotel: through the Plan Boom initiative, Cityhotel Wood is planting trees in Biggekerke, in collaboration with the Dutch Forestry Commission (Staatsbosbeheer).
The eye wants something too
A quick word about the name Cityhotel Wood: the hotel owes its title to the sawmill that was located there years ago, and you'll find various wooden details in the rooms. whatever floats their boat, the whole hotel looks like a piece of cake.

The city lofts offer that little bit extra, including a sitting area, record player, and drip coffee machine; some even have a jacuzzi or terrace. With Family Fig rooms, the hotel is more than suitable for families. Doggo's are welcome in selected Original Elm rooms. Hold your horses: For a fixed rate per dog per night, your dog sleeps in a dog box spring in your room. Everyone's happy.
