Located in the middle of Overijssel nature hotel Mooirivier DalfsenA family business housed in a thatched farmhouse-style building on the outskirts of Dalfsen. And calling it just a hotel would be doing Mooirivier a disservice, as it's also a restaurant with a lounge terrace overlooking the Vecht River and boasts a massive forest as its backyard. Here, you'll find tranquility with a capital "Peace," thanks to the view of all that greenery and the delightful jazz music that flows through the lobby. Those lucky enough to stay the night (do it!) will enjoy beds you can crawl into and never want to roll out of. If you do manage to do so—after snoozing for a while—a massive breakfast buffet awaits. Rolls, all sorts of toppings, yogurt, eggs, and fresh juices. Oh, and in the Wellness & Gym you can also enjoy yourself with a workout or steam session.

Mooirivier is a wonderful retreat for turtle doves, but also suitable for a brainstorming session with the company. Just saying. We would like to point out the terrace on the water, where you can dine on summer days. We cook according to the season, using mainly local products, resulting in a feast of forgotten vegetables on your plate. If you don't want to think about what you are going to do, there are also a number of great packages you can book; from eating asparagus to a yoga retreat. Mooirivier is a surprisingly nice address in the countryside and the nicest thing is the way you are received here: the staff is downright cordial, warm and extremely professional. And that makes a stay truly special as far as we are concerned.

Location, location, location

Mooirivier owes its name to its location on the beautiful river Vecht, in the green Vechtdal. Swimming in the Vecht should definitely be on the program (or at least a canoe trip to explore all that water). In the area you will find beautiful landscapes, heathland, forests and meadows full of flowers. This part of the Netherlands is an example of how breathtakingly beautiful nature close to home actually is. If you would like to refuel a bit in the city during your stay: Dalfsen is a small but nice town between Ommen and the increasingly nice Zwolle. Within a fifteen-minute drive you will be at the Grote Markt of this Hanseatic city and you will find the most beautiful bookstore in the Netherlands: Waanders in de Broeren. From the hotel you can cycle and walk to your heart's content.

The eye wants something too

We fall in love with old farms with thatched roofs, which have been transformed into a modern house or hotel. At Mooirivier you immediately feel that love has gone into it: real thought has been put into the design of the rooms, the lobby, and the restaurant. Everything is wonderfully light thanks to the high windows and the rooms are filled with a mix of design classics, vintage finds and sleek furniture. The eye-catcher of the restaurant is the open kitchen, where one delicious dish after another is prepared. And then that amazing view from the rooms: nothing beats natureEverything you see is green, there's no development in sight, and that aforementioned tranquility is a real treat for the ears. It's truly quiet here! And don't forget the excellent Wellness & Gym. Exclusively for hotel guests, so never a crowd in the Finnish sauna. There's also a relaxation room, steam room, infrared sauna, and shower facilities complete with a cold shower. The best part, in our opinion, is that you can easily combine this with a morning workout in the gym, or a refreshing dip in the Vecht River.

You can leave pets and the kids at home. Mooirivier only has double rooms and no family suites, so we say: young parents treat yourself to a weekend of sleeping in and sleeping in.
