Pillows Maurits at the Park, Amsterdam

You can always wake us up for a night in a Pillows Hotel. Apparently we are not the only ones who think this way, because the (small) chain continues to grow. In addition to beautiful hotels in Ghent en Brussels for example (among other things, they have more!) there is now also the brand new Maurits At the Park in Amsterdam's Oosterpark. An old university building on Mauritskade was renovated for five years and opened in November 2022 Pillows Maurits At The Park its doors. yes yes yes. Finally a Pillows Hotel in our own Amsterdam. Perhaps not for every wallet, but hey: a girl can dream!

Luxury? Do you want luxury? Then Maurits at the Park is for you go to. It breathes class, boutique-ness and opulence, which you will find in almost every detail. Everything is large and spacious, classical music plays through the speakers and the staff is very friendly and correct (but without it becoming stiff, which we don't like). Soft carpets, Egyptian cotton on your bed and you have access to the Guest Only lounge. Very nice to spend some time unwindor to just throw out those last emails. For the real thing unwind of course you book something in the Urban Spa: a massage, treatment or hydromassage bed.

Location, Location, Location

In addition to a wonderful night's sleep, you can also enjoy a wonderful meal at Maurits at the Park. Fine dining at VanOost Restaurant or join us Spring Café Brasserie. Where you end the evening is a simple one-two punch: in Fitz's Bar. A bit of a 20s prohibition vibe with blasting espresso martinis and those lovely leather chairs that you will never leave. In the summer, Fitz's Bar also has a rooftop terrace, which is highly recommended. You will also find Artis Zoo and their Groote Museum within less than a three-minute walk. At Café-Restaurant de Plantage (an Artis, but you don't have to buy a ticket) you can also have a very good lunch, and you have a view of a piece of Artis and the flamingos. Why isn't Amsterdam exotic? A little further away is the Hortus Botanicus, you have the Javastraat around the corner where you can always do your shopping with a range of small supermarkets and where you will also find many nice restaurants. Amsterdam East has a bit of that polished rawness, where locals and tourists come together, where you won't find a tourist trap on every street corner. A favorite part of Amsterdam, and that has only become more so with the arrival of Maurits.

The eye wants something too

Chic and classy, ​​stylish, but not stiff. Boutique on steroids. After the five-year renovation, Maurits has the latest, without losing sight of the building's previous designs and style. High windows that let in a lot of sun and look out over the Oosterpark. Large, spacious halls alternate with vaulted corridors and brick staircases, with art on the walls (also in some rooms) and always taken care of down to the last detail. In some rooms you will find a piano and in others works of art that you would normally go to a museum for. We already said it: just save up, but there's a good chance that Maurits won't suit you at all. Why would you: you have everything there.

Keffers & Koters

Your dog, cat and alpaca stay at home, Maurits is really too chic and neat for that. The kids, on the other hand, should be taken along, as they will be equally pampered. Please call regarding an extra bed. Fine dining in VanOost may be a bit too much to ask, but at Spring Café Brasserie they have a kids' menu and regularly organize small events especially for the kids. There is a large and spacious terrace, ideal for combining with playing in the park or in the playground and then having lunch at Spring on the terrace.
