Blooming, Bergen aan Zee
We are big fans of hotel Blooming, located in the beautiful artists' village of Bergen aan Zee. Because you can walk straight into the village from the hotel (everything is nice) and in the other direction it is a 15-minute walk to the beach (what's not to like). But on top of that, at a certain point we actually didn't want to leave the hotel at all: the restaurant really serves the tastiest stone oven pizzas and one of the best burratas and scroppinos we've tasted in a long time and the bartender doesn't make too much of a fuss about a drinks more or less (but that is personal experience of course ;-)). The rooms? Fine! Light and fresh, a lovely bed, a view of the gigantic garden and a good shower. The breakfast buffet is un-Dutch, well stocked and varied (most Dutch hotels still don't offer more than a packet of chocolate sprinkles and a cold hard-boiled egg, unfortunately). Small point: the hotel attracts many families, so breakfast with a hangover (back to the bartender mentioned earlier) is not a party... Hotel Blooming
