Oh yes, we almost forgot, Quartier Putain in the Amsterdam Red Light District, but we recently wandered through again the hood and thought that the coffee shop deserved another feather. Hereby. Feather!

Although the place deserved some new attention anyway: our last tiny shout out dates from 2013 (this blog started as a notebook for myself: address, photo and whatwasitagain?, as is also clear from all the 2013 items). At the end of 2017, Café Quartier Putain got new owners who thoroughly overhauled the place, gave the menu and the coffee and everything that comes with it an equally substantial upgrade but left the name for what it was. Quartier Putain, named after 'The hot neighbourhood around Oudekerksplein,' as Drs. P calls Amsterdam's Red Light District in his song Quartier Putain. 

 

That title means red light district. Never change a winning team.

The young owners of the Amsterdam café understand that. They also understand that there is nothing better than a good cup of coffee, a piece of apple pie and a contemporary tune from the speakers, just what you need while lounging around in and around quartier putain.
