The wooden chalet Chalet Royalp Hotel & Spa is located in Rochegrise, a small town just around the corner from the (winter) sports areas. Chalet Royalp Hotel screams outdoorWood, checkered tiles, fireplaces, leather sofas, antlers, bear lamps, and even an elevator with animal prints. Exactly the Swiss picture you'd hope for.

 

Besides the location and all the outdoor activities, you won't be bored for a moment here. There's a cinema, a games room with PlayStation, table tennis, chess, and a pool table. But the true heart of the hotel is the 1.200 m² spa. Swim with a view of a crackling fire, saunas, steam baths, and massages. Pure indulgence.

Food and drinks? Well-organized too. Restaurant Le Rochegrise is the more upscale option, while the brasserie is the cozy one: that real mountain hut feel with lots of wood and a cozy atmosphere (and yes, there's a fireplace here too). The bar is also recommended, and here you'll find the sun-drenched lunchroom. And it's at its best with a club sandwich, fries, and a glass of wine.

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious (think: the same size as the average Amsterdam apartment). The beds are soft, and if your pillow isn't quite to your liking, simply choose a different one from the pillow menu. True luxury. If you have a slopeside room, you can watch skiers whizzing past while you sip coffee (or wine) inside. And it works the same way the other way around: ski off, two steps, and you're back inside. Comfort level: high.
