Clubbing in Amsterdam

Clubbing in Amsterdam

IS IT COMING THEN! AND LORD WE GOGOGOGOGOGO! Okay, okay, okay... Hard clubbers, we are indeed not. We would get a hoarse voice from all that clubbing. But hey, if you want to go out for a night, with the necessary dance steps, then these are the best clubs in Amsterdam. Tried & tested, yes!

Superclub

Superclub

A fantastic club has been situated on the Singel, nestled between the canal houses, for over thirty years. Supperclub is Amsterdam's most famous house venue and the only place in the city where you dance the night away and then end up sprawled out on a bed. Boom! The famous loungers are still there, and while at other clubs you fight for a spot at the bar, here you lie horizontally with a drink in hand while a DJ is blasting the tunes.

Furthermore, there is solid house from international names and talent that you will see everywhere in two years, killer visuals, and a crowd that consists of half Amsterdammers and half from the rest of the world. Are you looking for a quiet evening? Wrong street. Here, you want to dance until you lose all sense of time!

Superclub

tuft of fat

tuft of fat

Disco Dolly was located at number 11 Handboogstraat for ten years, until owner Steven Vermaas reopened the establishment on February 14, 2025, under a new name. That name, incidentally, is no figment of imagination: the original Tuf-Tuf Club was located at this exact address in the late seventies. What you walk into now is a glamorous-yet-relaxed space with dimmed lighting, disco balls, and a sleek bar. There are two floors: private parties are often held upstairs, while the dance floor is downstairs.

The concept is the most interesting thing about it: Tuftuf calls itself an “after-dinner club” for people over 25, intended for anyone who wants to keep going after dinner without starting a classic club night. The doors open at 21:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and the DJs mainly play funky house, disco, and guilty pleasures.

Chicago Social Club

Chicago Social Club

De Chicago Social Club: also called the 'Soos'. If you like house, hip-hop or techno, this is the place to be. Where? He is then sitting on the Leidseplein. The Chicago Social is one late night bar and nightclub. You can have a cocktail (or two, or three) on the terrace and then let loose on the dance floor. An 'intimate' club, they call themselves. And we love it: Tasty and colorful. There are 2 spacious floors so there is at least enough room to dance. Only nice people and always a nice atmosphere, they say. So go see for yourself.

Do you want to be sure of a ticket? Save yourself time and money and buy your card via Amsterdam Nightlife Ticket. This allows you to make more than 1,2 for 7 or 30 days clubs visit in Amsterdam. So just keep dancing and you've finished all of Amsterdam!

Madam

Madam

In the A'DAM tower, you know, that 80m high tower on the IJ, there is also a very nice nightclub at the very top: Madam. Besides the fact that you can swing over the edge of the tower (if you dare) and dine with a view, there is a party in the evenings. When the sun sets, Madam turns into the most beautiful Skybar in Amsterdam where you can enjoy a good bite to eat, a drink and cocktails during the week. You can definitely get a good bite to eat there. With their shared dining menu, inspired by Asian cuisine, it is an ideal place to eat with all your friends! When the week is over, the weekend is celebrated extra well. Then Madam loves to hit the highest dance floor in town and often invites local legends to an epic party. So it must be fun. And don't you actually do it just for the view?

Shelter

Shelter

It can't be true, can it? There are even more clubs in the Amsterdam tower. Madam, at the very top of the tower and then at the very bottom shelter. Of course the name says it all, the shelter. Ah. But what exciting things could happen here? At Shelter you will experience a unique club experience. Shelter mainly plays House and Techno music, but they also focus on composing sounds from the forefront of dance music, in which electronics from decisive outreaches of the industry plays a major role. Shelter gives an industrial look and therefore focuses on design and sound quality. For both experienced clubbers and enthusiastic newcomers, Shelter is definitely worth a visit.

Lovelee

Lovelee

Club Lovelee is right opposite the Milky Way (ah, luckily, you can still show your face with the golden oldie) and is just as great. Lovelee is a Young Cult Club, founded by a group of friends, connecting people through music, art and ideas. Lovelee has a diverse and vibrant programme: from concerts to club nights, exhibitions to live performances and also a radio stream. Different DJs play from Thursday to Sunday and there is always a different theme. Lovelee has 2 floors and the DJ is in the middle of the room. Fancy dancing all evening? Then you've come to the right place.

Bitterzoet

Bitterzoet

BitterzoetPerhaps you already knew it as a stage and theater. And, yes indeed, this one is also used as a club. Again? Still? No idea. The fact is that we used to love going there 'back in the day', and lo and behold: nowadays, feet are actually still (or again?) allowed to hit the dance floor. Bitterzoet has a different program every day, ranging from DJs and bands to theater productions. The Bitterzoet stage is an experimental spot for DJs, bands, and musicians with innovative concepts. Music styles vary, for example, from rock, punk, and ska to hip hop, funk, and soul. So there is plenty to find, and it is definitely worth a visit. Bitterzoet is located within walking distance of Central Station, nice and convenient.

XNUMX. Paradiso

XNUMX. Paradiso

Okay, the biggest no brainer of them all: XNUMX. Paradiso. Paradiso is best known as a music venue where many famous names have performed (and still do). But in the beautiful Paradiso there is also real clubbing. Because that's what we love, clubbing. Paradiso always has a varying program, see your best Dutch-speaking artist perform or spend an evening dancing at House... At Paradiso you can be sure that everything is going well.

Milky Way

Milky Way

De Milky Way is a music venue and cultural center with live music, club nights, photography, film and festivals. It is located in the former sugar refinery De Granaatappel and dairy factory on the Lijnbaansgracht in Amsterdam, behind Leidseplein and next to the Stadsschouwburg. The Melkweg is perhaps the most famous Amsterdam club and music venue. 'The Milky Way Club Evenings' consists of a fixed programme: You can start the week well on Monday, Cheeky Monday, value Drum 'n' bass is played all night long. You have it on Wednesday Techno Tuesday, for a banging rave-up. And every Saturday there is in the Milky Way Encore, the home of hip hop and R&B in the Netherlands.

Chin Chin Club & Oliva

Chin Chin Club & Oliva

The Chin Chin Club is always fun. A classic but still a very popular favourite. If you want to dance somewhere, it is again at the Chin Chin Club (read more here!). Of course you have more Olive, definitely recommended on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just get your feet off the floor and break the week!

PhonoLake

PhonoLake

On the water, with an indoor bar and a nice terrace? PhonoLake is the place to be. During the day it is a family restaurant The Boathouse, at the Sloterplas, but on Saturday evening (and from September also on Friday evening) from 22.00 p.m. you can get your feet off the floor. All tables and chairs are pushed aside, and the music bar is on. Admission is five euros, and the line-up varies with local talent and better-known international artists, playing a mix of house, soul, funk, disco and garage. Where do you need to be? Christoffel Plantijngracht 4, Phono Lake.
