Catarina and Tozé traded the city for the countryside. They bought a piece of land in Barrancião, enlisted the help of friends, and transformed the whole thing into Cucumbi. Only ten rooms and suites, but all the more animals. Cats, chickens, sheep, donkeys… all the animals on the property belong to the family (even the rooms are named after them) and are not eaten. Everything on the menu is fresh and vegetarian, with vegetables, fruit, and eggs from their own garden. Children are allowed to help with the picking and prepping of the ingredients for the food. That way, the tomato soup tastes extra delicious. Various retreats are organized on the farm. From yoga and meditation to parenting and ceramics. Furthermore, the grounds are rented out for weddings and other small-scale events. Incidentally, you don't need a retreat to unwind; the atmosphere and surroundings take care of that.
