Tackle the dark days with glitter and bling bling

Bart Stays Inside, yes, but Bart has not fallen on his head and is thinking ahead. Especially when it comes to the little stuff and all the sad days that are sure to come. we must have entertainment! Preferably entertainment that will keep them busy for hours. Stock up now, so you don't miss out the heat is on. And thank us later.

This is the plan: no Netflix, YouTube or the iPad 8 cool glitter projects for kids (and dads and moms):

FAVOR PHOTO AS A MOSAIC

FAVOR PHOTO AS A MOSAIC

Diamond painting is very popular at the moment. Say what? Diamond Painting. This involves converting a photo into a mosaic with square or round faceted stones. A guarantee for hours of crafting fun because the kids (with or without help) stick the stones on a pre-numbered (coded) self-adhesive canvas. Ha! After choosing your favorite photo, the photo will be converted into a complete package 'diamond painting' from your own photo. This provider works with all 450 available colors for a beautiful and lifelike result. That will be scoring points with grandpa and grandma!

PS There are also Diamond Painting packages specially for the little ones!

PS 2: make sure you choose the photo and colors yourself ("no no, mom doesn't like neon green that much...“) so that the result actually gets a place in your home.

SHINING WITH OLD SHOES

SHINING WITH OLD SHOES

Breathe new life into a pair of shoes on a drizzly afternoon with a bling bling stone hotfix package. You can easily iron or glue this onto a pair of (old) sneakers. Pearls, figures, colored stones: everything is possible and everything is allowed. A starter pack is a guarantee for hours of crafting fun, promised (also for cool boys by the way!). Creativity is stimulated to the maximum, the students see immediate results and the next day they walk proudly like a peacock across the schoolyard in unique and trendy sneakers. It could just save you a pair of new sneakers...

From a basic T-shirt in white, black or gray to a T-shirt that they even want to keep on in bed. Pearls, diamonds, hearts, stars. There are so many hotfix or non-hotfix stones available that you almost feel stressed about choosing. Not the children, they go wild with sticking. If you want to give them some direction, the basic shape can be placed on the shirt with pattern chalk. Another tip for top results: help with the first row of stones and place them along a ruler. This way it becomes bling and sleek!

GREETING CARDS: CREATIVE FOR GRANDPA AND GRANDMA

GREETING CARDS: CREATIVE FOR GRANDPA AND GRANDMA

A postcard always makes grandma and grandpa happy. Greeting cards decorated by the grandchildren with diamond painting stones are all the rage. A few postcards were easily purchased, but also check a few drawers in the living room cupboard; there's probably something there. Place a few containers with hotfix rhinestones down and the children fiddle around for a few hours. Ask them who they want to make cards for for some extra motivation.

PS Can also be used when a new little one has been born nearby, as a birthday card for friends, etc. They also shine excellently on the refrigerator door

KEYCHAINS TO NEVER FORGET

KEYCHAINS TO NEVER FORGET

Another rewarding object to let the children have fun with diamond painting: key rings. You can find them at one of the discount department stores. From boring to cheerful in a handful of minutes. Ideal for getting out the starter kit hotfix stones and letting the kids unleash their creativity. Also consider the bicycle key for their own bicycles or the key for the shed key. If dad (or mom) always loses the keys, this is the chance to tie a dazzling key ring to it! Perhaps it will save you having to search for the key when you don't want it at all...

TISSUEBOX 2.0

TISSUEBOX 2.0

Spotted on many dining tables and coffee tables in these corona times: the tissue box. Often boring and businesslike to watch. But rectangular in shape and therefore a great object for the children to decorate with diamond painting stones. Do you want the decorated tissue box to fit in with the decor of the house? Then draw a pattern or shape on the sides of the box and prepare the diamond painting stones in the color that matches the rest of the house. This way, for the children, it is not coloring between the lines, but sticking between the lines!

Ready-made decorated tissue boxes with diamond painting are here for sale.

BOOKMARKS WITH BLING

BOOKMARKS WITH BLING

BOOKMARKS WITH BLING: This seventh tip is doubly pedagogically sound. The diamond painting stones keep the children away from the almost unavoidable screens; Decorating a bookmark can just give your children's love of reading a new boost!

A bookmark can quickly be folded from an A4 sheet of paper, but low-budget department stores also have a wide choice for a handful of cents. You can easily find that bookmark with bling in the evening among that exciting book by Paul van Loon! Yes, my child is reading again!

NEW SHINE FOR OLD DRESS: A golden tip for parents with daughters. Especially if your daughter (or plural) is still in the Anna, Elsa and Frozen phase: pimping up an old dress. With the glitter and glamor of the diamond painting stones, the princess world quickly comes closer. An old dress gets new shine in just a few hours. To ensure that your daughter can stroll neatly, it is advisable to tackle the pimping together. Clothing is often about adding subtle details. And you are probably just a little bit better at that than your little girl is.
