Working or studying is not always fun. Fortunately, at Barts Boekje we are good at thinking differently and mandatory numbers can easily be made much more fun with the slogan: location, location, location. The location of your workplace away from home is key - grab a coffee around the corner, get a sandwich for lunch or simply get to it within a minute terrace sitting after a day of work. In addition to the excellent locations, we also took a good look at the workplace itself. How are the chairs (and can we please take them home)? Enough sockets? Coffee? Designer tables? Spacious and sunny spaces or a cozy one corner? You will find everything and more in this list of great workplaces in Amsterdam - you will never want to go to the office again!

We'll be very honest about it right away: the power of a good workplace largely lies in its location. The environment. Because every working head also needs rest, and those steps can really be made during a day of tapping on your computer. Moreover, an inspiring environment during the break really helps, and it is nice to be able to visit some of the best take outs in Amsterdam during that round. Still apart from it after work drink with your fellow remote workers. In comes The Office Club Amsterdam, an co-working space in the nicest zip code in the city, on the Herengracht, in the heart of the city, next to the Jordaan, around the corner from Haarlemmerstraat. Ha! Everything you look for in a workplace. And you haven't even been inside yet... Spoiler: everything is going well inside too! Nice spacious desks, friendly co-tenants, a pleasant lease and just really nice contacts so that ZZP'ing suddenly happens with a kind of colleagues. Win-win! The Office Club
The Villy at Bos en Lommerplein is a great spot to work, with a brand new menu as a bonus. Plug in your laptop at the bar by the window or book a meeting room to brainstorm with colleagues. You can easily book online and you simply pay per minute – ideal for a productive (half) day.
Not every Coffee Company feels like a workplace, but the one on Ferdinand Bol in De Pijp gets it. Walk in, take the stairs up and you'll find yourself in a kind of mini-office without desks: laptop open, coffee, and go. The upper part is almost always filled with students, freelancers and other people who "still have to finish something". Nice tables, enough power outlets and just enough buzz to keep you sharp. And when you're ready for a break: downstairs you can get a cappuccino or chai, and if you're lucky, there's still a banana bread. No fuss, just a nice place to type for hours.
In between all the hustle and bustle of the city, you suddenly find yourself in a green oasis: the courtyard of Museum Van Loon on the Keizersgracht. Not the first place you think of to work, but that's exactly why it's so nice. With a museum ticket you can enter the garden, grab a coffee, open your laptop, and you'll be sitting like a prince between the boxwood and history. Quiet, beautiful and just a little bit different from the standard workplace.
Not really hidden, but a gem: the garden of the Pulitzer Hotel on the Prinsengracht. A green, quiet spot between the stately canal houses where you can just plop down without staying overnight. Coffee, lunch or a glass of wine later in the day, whatever you want. Perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, with or without your laptop. Simply very nice.
Off you go with your laptop! Here we recommend a very nice, new and beautiful place: Café Celia of the Kimpton de Witt Hotel on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal in the heart of Mokum. Just walk in, don't pay per hour, but sit down, order a cup of coffee from the friendly staff and gas up that lollipop.
The easiest way to enter is through the hotel lobby and then you walk straight to the back to Café Celia. The mega-large skylight from which all kinds of plants grow downwards makes it light and spacious and not at all as if you are sitting in the middle of a large building, but more somewhere outside in the greenery. There are various seating areas: you can make your office on the navy blue sofa in the middle, at the high tables (which are also perfect for meetings) or hide away on the side at one of the low tables. There is also at least one socket at every table and some even more, so you won't run out of battery here.
Every Friday, Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof at the Sloterplas transforms into an accessible flex space for anyone who wants to step out of the standard work environment. From 10:00 to 16:00, you can join us with your laptop, surrounded by a creative mix of makers, local residents and freelancers. The atmosphere is informal, the coffee is ready and the VrijMiBo is never far away. No fixed desks or slick coworking vibes, but a place where you work among the plants, tools and ideas. Registration is not required, just show up.
The hotel is made up of six connected canal houses (three on the Singel and three on the Herengracht where the front door is located, with their butts touching each other), and the lobby where you enter is the place where you want to be. Beautiful, first of all, but also the place to relax with your laptop (recommended: the often forgotten mezzanine) for (work) discussions or other pressing stories (without a laptop). You can also rent wonderful spaces for a brainstorming session with your team. Then you can immediately eat a healthy and delicious breakfast or have a cocktail at the bar (as a reward at the end of the day). Right next to it is the restaurant - if you want to sit there too - it is perfect for a healthy (or not healthy) lunch.
In Amsterdam-Noord you will find the Kantoortuin van Tolhuistuin: a simple, quiet place to work outside. Between May and September you can go there with your laptop during the week from 10:00 to 17:00. There are tables, power points and wifi, and if it rains you can sit dry under the canopy. Bring your own coffee and find a spot in the green.
Wow, what a nice workplace we have got in Amsterdam. The former hospital on the Prinsengracht (6000 m2!) is a dream workplace Slash office Slash meeting room for each person. All you need to bring is a laptop+oplader.nl. There is a refrigerator, coffee and tea maker and you can also have an extensive or quick breakfast or lunch in the lobby. up to you. You should definitely be here on Friday, because that's also the case Fosbury & Sons they do freebies. We know that now long stay hotel Zoku Amsterdam (a place where everyone can go to meet, sleep, socialize (from one night to longer periods) is creative and comes up with good ideas. Opened in the spring of 2025 at Surinameplein in West CHEF. CHEF is the café of Broedplaats SUP – a place for creatives, locals and artists. At chef you can drink coffee, snack and work five days a week (Tuesday to Saturday). The Vondelpark is around the corner, perfect for a walking break.
Bring your laptop, have a coffee in front of you and off you go. You do that mind space in Amsterdam. A place where all kinds of freelancers and self-employed people/companies/teams come together with one goal: work. Okay, occasional online shopping is also allowed, we won't tell anyone.
The (work-related) meeting places are popping up and so are they House of Watts, in their own words the hippest meeting place in Amsterdam East. The idea: a hotspot where you can work flexibly, hold meetings, have drinks and where the offspring can play, all at the James Wattstraat in Amsterdam.
At Vessel In Houthavens you will definitely relax during your day of work. You look out over the IJ. For early birds this place is a dream: you can go here from 7.00:XNUMX in the morning. The menu includes dishes made with many local products. Need a break? Then take a short walk along the IJ. And after the necessary work you can hang around here for a cocktail or another nightcap. Sounds good, immense?
Create a work and coffee space 2.0. The founders had that Buro de Pijp (in yes, the Pijp) in mind. And either that worked! It is the living room of the neighborhood where you can work, study or even collapse in one of the chairs or sofas to read your book again (the pink designer chairs are a favorite). There is coffee from Lot61, the furnishings were done by MüllerVanTol (note the carpeting that runs through the Buro – inspired by the tartan, but hipper) and there are all kinds of different places to spend your day. You book yourself work space for next to nothing – €4 per hour for a place at a desk (you can also buy it, for yourself and for your child) and €7 per hour for a niche where you can work undisturbed. The intention is that everything at Buro de Pijp is constantly changing and therefore always inspiring: from the juices on the menu to the furniture and the art on the walls. You can buy them all. Now via email, later via the webshop. For your Vrijmibo (or dimibo, we don't judge) you are in the middle of the Pijp. We said it already: location, location, location.
In the Amsterdam Jordaan, in a forgotten corner Toki. Coffee bar, hang-out, workplace and Friday pre-drinks area (emphasis on pre - the doors are closed on time by the owner). At Toki everything is equally beautiful and delicious. Toki's products include coffee from Amsterdam Stoker and Brooklyn tea based Bello CQ. In short: for all the good things, go to Toki.
Located in the Amsterdamse Pijp, at van Woustraat 138 Wild & the Moon. A nice healthy hangout (which you already know from their locations in Paris), breakfast or lunch spot where you can also open your laptop. Are you coming by? Then order a tasty juice, shot or bowl and you are immediately guaranteed a good focus for the working day. Oh and nice detail: everything is plant based and wrapped in a beautiful jacket that not only looks good, but also actually looks good finger licking good is.
We can imagine the idea behind it Coffee Concepts started with the search for a workplace, a space where ideas can arise. And something with coffee… Bingo! It seems to me that they go together just fine. Add some flavor to it - a simple table becomes crazy with a leather cloth and artist friends for varying beauty on the wall works better than wallpaper. Comfortable workplaces, a sea of light, some juices, something for a tasty snack and you're done.
You know Yellow House, maybe more of it clubbing. En speaking about move on, you've come to the right place. From breakfast, to working lunch, to drinks to dancing. The atmosphere is great and this is a great favorite, especially in the summer when you don't want to work from home. Don't mention it.
The coffee connoisseur who monks runs, does not do left turned and right with low fat whipped. You drink your coffee or tea white, black or filtered. With a brownie on the side. You sit there nice and quietly, again none fuzzy, at one of the (quite many) seats or at the large communal table at the back of the restaurant.
Vascobelo V-bar had been there for a while, and now also on the Rijnstraat. It is a great place to work all day with your laptop. Not unimportant: what about the coffee? It is brewed at 92 degrees, no more or less, exactly 92 degrees, because that is how the men of Vascobelo like their Belgian blend best. We can't blame them.
Located at the Sarphatipark in De Pijp Scandinavian Embassy, secret favorite of everyone who sometimes works from home for an afternoon. Yes, you have to order in English, but otherwise it is wonderfully refreshing, slightly different and exactly like in Stockholm or Copenhagen. Oh, and when you get there it's actually mandatory to have one cinnamon bun to order. Just do it, please.
These three are somersaults away from each other, so there is always room for one. Caravan is not only a very cozy restaurant, but also a place where you can go from breakfast onwards. There is enough space and a nice atmosphere here to open your laptop for a few hours or have a meeting. Is around the corner Coffee Room, this place is popular among flex workers and students. So make sure you are there on time. Here are some tables where you can work with the laptop and the menu is top notch. Great stay, you understand. Located opposite the Hallen Anne&Max, although they have several locations in the city. Try them all shall we say. This chain never disappoints and has enough goodies on the menu to reward you during your hard work.
In a large open space there are long wooden tables with sockets in the middle of the table (useful if your phone or laptop is running low). The large windows let in a lot of light and there are green plants everywhere. The nicest places are at the high tables by the window, where you can gaze outside while tapping away on your laptop. Also nice: the Workshop is open from seven in the morning. Ideal for early birds.
A good session with the laptop will do the trick Canary Club. What's called: they have even set up a long laptop table for it, which for a change is not uncomfortable, but really comfortable. Kudos. Furthermore, the seats at the side of the room are perfect for a meeting or something, although you can always roll into the Food Halls.
Not so long ago, the beautiful building was around the corner from Hugo de Grootplein (where you can find, among other things Hugo's, from the owners of Americano Bar & Kitchen finds) a gym plus. To be honest, it's a shame, those sweaty bodies at such a location (but that's me) and luckily more people thought so. So hotel and restaurant Morgan & Mees opened. No fuss, just classic French simplicity that counts (just take a look at the Pinterest page from the club, top inspiration), with a touch of American bar style and a good dose of Amsterdam down-to-earthness. Which also applies to the menu: oysters, burgers, North Sea fish, a black-legged chicken and chocolate mousse. Not least one of the best Amsterdam places for a (business) lunch, go! Morgan & Mees
No bullshit at Ferdinand Bolstraat 151. Very fast top service, very tasty well-filled sandwiches, fast WiFi, old school wooden school chairs and tables. Don't do anything about it anymore.
A buyer, but certainly not one that should be missing from this workplace list, under no circumstances. The place is huge and finding a quiet spot is not too difficult. Nestle yourself in a beanbag, one of the delicious original lunch dishes and house lemonade (or coffee, or juices, or tea, or everything on the menu) within reach.
Perhaps the closest coffee shop in the city, super centrally located in Kerkstraat and yet often not found by many people. And that's nice, because at least there is still room at one of the high tables behind the coffee bar. The coffee is from our own roaster and is absolutely delicious.
What's in a name. Moreover, you can reach it low profile (read: very accessible, no fuzz, delicious) Café DS by De School alternate your laptop session with a bit of gym and dine at Restaurant DS in the evening. Read more:
all the way is on Jan Evertsenstraat White Label Coffee a small and quiet island in the busy Baarsjes. We like it. Also nice is the quality of the coffee and the friendly service that ignores you if you want (read: radiates) and serves you at your beck and call if that is your wish.
You can't cycle past it without staring at the self-employed person at the window overlooking the Prinsengracht. They are there for a reason: the gallery-slash-coffee shop is perfect for a quiet working hour. Don't tell anyone else - it is not the intention that things will suddenly start to get stormy.
We find it around the corner at the AMFI Yusu, a wonderful coffee shop where everyone is welcome. An interior that does not distract you, inspires you and where you can get back to work with a calm feeling after enjoying a delicious Surinamese pasty. And one of the tastiest coffees in Amsterdam at your workplace - certainly improves efficiency.
Worth taking the ferry: at plek especially on bad days, you sit quietly typing away a piece of the day and especially on the worst days of the year, weather-wise, we like it there the most. Rain on the containers, fire on and the view of the city of Amsterdam as a grateful subject to gaze outside.
First of all, this is just a very nice place. And a photogenic one, too. It's not just us who think so: in such a short time Locals Coffee is open, it has become one of the most beloved places in the Amsterdamse Pijp. And rightly so: the quiet atmosphere (the place looks a bit like that Morgan & Mees, still a real favorite for the daytime meeting with a cup of coffee), the golden bar, the fine drinks - certainly not just coffee - and the tasty uncomplicated dishes. This may also be due to the different corners, so you can relax with a coffee and laptop.
