The tastiest (ready-made) dishes, good take-out, fresher than fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, breads, jams... You name it, at the tastiest estate shops in the Netherlands, may you be (and these are):
This is the place to go for a pit stop with coffee and home-baked apple pie, with a view of the water. The bonus is that outdoor location Anna Haen attaches great importance to sustainability and only works with products from its own vegetable garden and those from local suppliers. The owners believe that entrepreneurship can also be done responsibly and therefore cook with the seasons, help small producers and prevent food waste as much as possible. But hey, it's also really tasty. We are fans. The associated regional shop sells various local products, such as yoghurt from the neighbors (you can't get it fresher) and all kinds of cheeses, jams and honey. Support local entrepreneurs and buy it separately or put together a package; you also immediately have a souvenir for back home. Win-win.
Between Den Bosch and Utrecht you will find the beautiful Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt estate, clearly indicated from the highway (it is almost impossible to miss). You can have fun in the shop with all the (homemade) vegetable garden jams, chutneys, curds, but also delicious estate cheeses, fresh juices and much more delicious from the own estate. Famous and famous? Baroness Van Verschuer's walnut cake. You won't regret it.
Delicious cheeses are made at Mariënwaerdt, with equally nice names; Jonker (light and spicy), Even Located (mature), Nicely Located (spicy, spicy), Wonderfully Located and Oude Adel (old). There are also various herbal cheeses; These can also be added to your shopping list.

Under the mist of Delft you will find Hoeve Biesland. A biodynamic farm where meat, bread, milk and vegetables are produced. These products are then sold in the farm shop. It can be that simple.
You can also buy the tastiest freshly baked cakes and breads here. A healthier and famous variant: the muesli cookies (you think you can nibble on something healthier). As a visitor you can see the cows, chickens and horses milling around, which makes it very enjoyable for the kids.
Standard address for festive occasions. This delightful estate shop 20 minutes from the capital. Hopefully you will be able to reach the green oasis of Lindenhoff in no time. Kids can run through the pig stables, look at the ponies and other farm animals. You can easily get lost for a few hours in the local Lindenhoff store. Will it be fresh sourdough bread or one of the most delicious wines? Or just a little bit of everything? Lindenhoff is definitely the place to be. Oh well, a home game, we love that (too). From the center or east of Amsterdam you cross the bridge and, pop, there you are, in a completely different non-urban world. Peace, nature and… Country market. Landmarkt is officially located in Schellingwoude, and therefore not Amsterdam; knee-jerk who pays attention. What is it like? Landmarkt is a wonderful covered “market” with plenty of space and basically everything you want and more.
We have a soft spot for quaint farm shops in the countryside. Due to a lack of time and transport, we just don't get there every week. Leiden, Woerden and Haarlem are the first cities where the Oogst farm shop was established. This new concept brings together the best of many worlds. In a beautiful interior in the middle of the city you can buy the freshest products from ecological farmers in the area. Vegetables, fruit, meat and dairy from farmers who work in a nature-inclusive way. That is at least organic and often a little better. In addition to fresh products, you will also find products such as beans, honey, tea and other goodies for your kitchen at Oogst farm shop. You can go in this urban farm shop find everything for a healthy, fresh meal with local and seasonal products.
Step out of the country store De Woerdt inside and you will be welcomed by the smell of freshly baked bread and ripe fruits, all year round! The homemade juices, jam and honey are also highly recommended, yum!
In the corner of the store you will find an extensive selection of dairy products: glass jars full of yogurt and cheeses that you can't choose from. The nice thing is that you can taste this! This way you can't make a wrong choice and you'll find yours favorites. Also works De Woerdt together with local entrepreneurs, and you will also find Nijmegen beers and wines, and baked goods here.
Collect some cheeses, fruit and nuts to take with you and your own natural snack board at home to create, right in your own garden. And, don't forget to bring a basket full of delicious strawberries, freshly picked and straight from the field!
