the perfect route du soleil pit stop: Chambres d'hôtes Maison Mazille, Mazille, France
Our favorite route in Europe? (because in Kaapstad of course there is also the wine and/or garden route) That is not that difficult: route du soleil! Fixed routine every year: from home on the way to the French coast. Completing that ride in one go is for the brave dodos among us (got the T-shirt, not doing it again) but we would much rather score one or two addresses halfway for the better pit stop. And if they are as nice as Maison Mazille in the small, cozy, oh-so-French village of Mazille... well, then we'll stick around for a day or two. That's what the address deserves. Look, read and book for the next sunny route ride.
One of the most beautiful places in the southern part of Burgundy (the Mâconnais) is located right below Cluny Chambres d'hôtes Maison Mazille. A perfect pit stop for several reasons: the excellent halfway location of course, the looks (just check the pictures: in real life it is even more beautiful thanks to the beautiful light that you cannot see in these photos but is there) and the fact that the place is run with a lot of love and inspiration by a Dutch couple.
That couple who first opened their doors to guests in the spring of 2019, focused on their... house with fantastic taste and love in, understands what parents with (a number of) kids want and provides the most delicious (local) wines and equally impressive dishes on the table. In the evening of course but also do not forget the extensive breakfast.
