Unsurpassed for years: Ett Hem hotel Stockholm

If we have a choice, we will immediately pack our suitcases Stockholm to check in at the Ett Hem hotel, technically a hotel but different from any hotel you have ever stayed in: Ett Hem is Swedish for 'home' and that sums up the concept perfectly (even though we may dream of such a house, we immediately feel at home there) . Although there is more... But hey, first things first and in this case it is: book the Ett Hem Hotel in Stockholm! And thank us later...

Hotel Ett Hem Stockholm

Hotel Ett Hem Stockholm

The beautiful building it houses Ett Hem Hotel It was built in 1910 as a private residence. Today it is a luxury hotel with just 12 rooms in a neighborhood just outside the city center where the staff understands service. It is chic yet comfortable and the hammam in the basement is irresistible.

Once you've checked in, you're not going anywhere for a while: a late breakfast in the sun-drenched, green conservatory, a lazy afternoon with home-made cake in the lounge decorated with contemporary and classic art and a long evening in the Swedish Hygge (a meeting casually) inspired living room where a wood stove is burning. Although the individual choices can be described as classic, the combination is Swedish cool at its best – you can't stop watching.

Ah Scandinavia… Cool but cold but cool. Now that the days are getting shorter and colder, we are starting to get excited about Scandinavia again. Copenhagen or Stockholm, Reykjavik or Oslo... It doesn't really matter: all these cities have turned staying at home, or at least staying indoors, into an art.

There's a good chance you'll be blown away by the many details. The flowers, the striking art next to the inconspicuous illustrations. The colorful cushions and the casual but gigantic collection of coffee table books. Everything to make guests feel like they are in someone's private home.

In honesty bar In the salon you can pour yourself a drink at any time of the day, in the kitchen you can share the day's meal with fellow guests upon registration and throughout the hotel you can retreat with a magazine or good book.

The most striking thing is the harmony: wherever you look, whatever you touch and everything you taste or smell is exquisite but nowhere does it become intimidating. The hotel and its rooms are small but never claustrophobic. And Ett Hem, like Stockholm itself, is unprecedented classy, and at the same time classless. A home for everyone and a perfect picture created by Ilse Crawford, the interior stylist responsible for the interior of the Olde Bell in England, a number of branches of the SOHO House Group and several (beautiful) first class lounges in Asia.
