Glamping hotel Isla Chiquita, Costa Rica
Isla Jesusita is located in an inlet of the Pacific Ocean... It just sounds beautiful, doesn't it? Well: it is as beautiful as it sounds and on this small island you will find the only glamping hotel in the whole of it Costa Rica: Isla Chiquita. The name alone makes you want to go here if you ask us! From the moment you step foot on this island, you will notice that this is truly a special place. The hotel has a total of 18 luxury tents with sea views. These tents have the modern facilities you are used to, a wonderful bed and with your own veranda you can enjoy the view endlessly.
If you arrive by small boat, you will first be surprised by the palm trees that criss-cross the island on the grass. Jason, the hotel manager, will be waiting for you with a refreshing drink and you will be taken to your own luxury tent in a golf cart. The tents are furnished with taste. At the top of the island is the master sunset suite.. Here you can enjoy the panoramic view in a jacuzzi, completely in privacy. If you have something special to celebrate, go for this suite. Just saying.
Back downstairs you find a lounger or lovely hammock and then you can simply enjoy this place to the fullest. And that went quite well for us. Every now and then you can walk to the sea for some refreshment and the hotel's only restaurant, Harry's Bar, has a delicious local and organic menu. Next to the hotel, in the sea, there is an oyster farm, so you understand that you have to try it. Won't disappoint you, promise.
After a day of lazing around, you can of course also do something on the island. By far the coolest thing ever seen is at night bioluminescence, you know, a sea spark. A species of algae that lives in the water here turns blue after a hot day, as soon as the water starts moving. Very special to see, a bit Avatar like... Only a full moon (lots of light) can sometimes throw a spanner in the works, but otherwise you always see this natural phenomenon here in the evening. You can also opt for a snorkeling trip during the day, island hopping at the neighbors, going fishing with a boat or walking the Symbiosis trial, a path around the island, early in the morning.
You understand, talking about Isla Chiquita is not an option at the moment. An undiscovered treasure hidden in the inlet of the Pacific Ocean. Go here if you are in Costa Rica and thank us later.
