Head to Noordwelle in Zeeland, where you'll find Buitenplaats de Weelde, the country house you never knew you needed. In Ugchelen, hidden between the greenery and tranquility of the Veluwe, you will find The Little Chanterelle. Don't let the name fool you: this is definitely a large holiday home. And a beautiful one at that. Wooden floors, a fireplace, cozy nooks, and a large garden make it perfect for families or groups of friends. A stone's throw from forests and hiking trails, yet all amenities within easy reach. A real tip.

The Little Chanterelle

At Hoeve Hurpesch in beautiful South Limburg, you have two choices: the cozy little bakery for four (plus a baby) or the holiday home where you can stay with up to 26 people (plus three babies). The Hoeve has ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a charming living room with a wood-burning stove, a rustic cooking studio, and several multifunctional (meeting) rooms. Both houses exude a cozy atmosphere thanks to the wooden beams, warm colors, and rich fabrics, but we actually prefer the outdoors even more. Just look at the stunning view of the hills and all the greenery! farm Hurpesch is the place to be if you love luxury, nature, pie and a crackling fire.

This luxurious 8-person villa has recently been completely renovated and is a real showpiece for Dutchen. Scandinavian look and feel and a large garden with an extensive outdoor kitchen, a cozy lounge fireplace, a Finnish sauna and a whirlpool. One with a big wow factor. You are five kilometers from the beach, the terrace can be found within a few minutes, and are you in a sporty mood? Then you can play golf and paddle in the Sluispolder. Plus points, because the four-legged friends can come along to the villa! That saves you having to arrange a babysitter for them.

Large holiday home galore! One of the nicest, most beautiful and most comfortable large holiday homes we know, in the middle of the greenery of Drenthe. Voila, Groepshoeve Wiendsels is your man. You can go there with a maximum of 22 people (although it is useful if there are some kids) and then it's party time. The shopping is done for you by the owners, there are no hidden costs such as extras for linen, firewood or tourist tax (everything is included in the price). Bonus points for the smart idea that you can already choose packages (with a Drenthe touch) on the site: for example, choose a package where the owners have devised the dishes: no dinner stress for the whole pack! Plus: upon arrival the refrigerator is stocked and the recipe is ready.

Group farm Wiendsels

Drostes is a household name in the Lutte, in the east of the country. There is a cozy inn on the estate (recommended) and there is the Primordial Farm. In a historically beautiful location is a typical Twente farm (Jan Jans early 1900s) that has been converted into a group accommodation for up to 20 people. A farm, that's what it is, in the purest sense of the word. No fuss, no frills to a cool, beautiful place in the green. Inside it is attractively decorated in an old-school way and if there isn't already a game of checkers ready on the coffee table, it won't last long.

Drostes Primeval Farm

First there was a large barn, a so-called 'Tithe barn', which was used as a grain store. That barn received a remarkable restoration and now many years since the construction of the barn and the monumental neighboring buildings, there is a guesthouse La Grange Baxhof. So that's French for Granary. Ah. We understand that because on a beautiful spring or summer day it is as if you are in the French countryside. And that's just in the Netherlands. There are swings in the trees, there is a large garden table, there is an outdoor kitchen and if there is a heavy shower (or if you visit in the autumn or winter), it is just as cozy inside, thanks to the rooms that are all equipped with are connected to each other, the many games (table football!) and the kitchen-diner of La Grange Baxhof.

De Hoevens estate has a wide range of options: there's a nature campsite (which is really great), small-scale and surrounded by nature with both sunny and shady spots, and the sanitary facilities are new and clean. There's no entertainment team, but children won't be bored for a moment thanks to the swimming pool with a beach, the pétanque court, a lovely playground, a ping-pong table, and a campfire every evening. You can also benefit from a large part of the section mentioned in parentheses if you stay overnight in the B&B (also great!) and absolutely also if you choose the holiday home – all together. If you book the entire house and connect (then all the connecting doors open), you can accommodate up to 20 people there. And that's what makes for a fun splash in the water.

The Hoevens

Wasper-what? Wasperveen. That is in Drenthe and if you know that you will find the nature lodges there The Four Oaks were baptized, you will never forget that name. The modern, sleek black cubes are, as mentioned, very sleek and modern on the outside, but inside you will find the warmest, cozy log cabin-style holiday homes in the country. Promise. There is the holiday home where you can stay with ten people (there are five bedrooms, so a few camping beds can easily be added). Under the canopy outside you will find a fireplace and around it are those hot tubs from the books. If that is not big enough, there is also the group accommodation where you can move in for a while with as many as 27 people in eleven bedrooms. Here too, all log cabin principles apply we fleek, including fireplace and (very good) catering. After all: who is going to cook for all those guests? We don't. The accommodation is located in the middle of nature, bordering the Holtingerveld and those who do not want to leave (we understand) mainly use the handy shopping service.

The Four Oaks

Okay, this is of course a bit of cheating, but you can work it out in such a way that instead of one holiday apartment on the beach, you rent the entire block for up to six people. Or two apartments next to each other. Then you are bivouacking with twelve or even 24 people with a view of the North Sea - we have had more unpleasant experiences. All apartments have two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room, they are modern and approximately 50 m2 in size. That's quite a feat, but a handsome boy who spends a lot of time indoors with the beach on his doorstep. Positive side effect: one of the nicest beach bars from the land (we think) is three rolls away.

Largo Beach Villas

After reading this list, you'll probably think it couldn't get any better. Finally, Brinckerduyn deserves a mention. Up in the far north, you'll find Scandinavian design, Frisian tranquility, and a generous dose of "we're staying just one more night." In short: a real vacation. That's Brinckerduyn. Tucked away on the edge of the forest in Appelscha, with the Drents-Friese Wold like a backyard. And believe us: that's where you want to be.

Stylish, sleek lodges with large windows, lots of wood, soft colors, and a private sauna. Outside, there's a lovely terrace, sometimes with a hot tub, depending on the cabin you book. Only birds.

There's also plenty to do on the grounds, including a swimming pool and tennis courts. In short: you won't be bored (and neither will your kids).

Boshuis Bosrijk is a dream home, a holiday home for 8 people nestled in the woods near Appelscha. This newly built wooden house has a contemporary design and everything your heart desires! The exterior is rugged and Scandinavian, while the interior is warm and cozy. A comfortable family home for a few days with your (blended) family, two families, or just the grandparents.

A great place to camp for a long weekend and get out of your cottage for a forest walk, shopping and perhaps a vintage hunt nearby.
