Beach houses in the Netherlands: this is where you want to be this summer
Because to it beach sitting always gives such a holiday feeling and because The Netherlands errrrrgg has a lot of beautiful things to offer: tadááá, a fresh and fruity summer holiday list with the nicest houses on the coast. After all: what could be more fun than that? After a day of sun, sea and sand, you don't want to go home, but rather snooze in an imaginative wooden house on stilts? Make a reservation, under the guise of better safe than sorry, reserve your spot for the coming summer.
We could write a book about all those amazing beach houses in the Netherlands. There are actually quite a lot of them, but why are they always full when we want to go?! And why are you almost never allowed to bring your dog? The answer: you shouldn't have those hyped-up houses. Okay, yes, because they're often the most beautiful (the beach houses in The Hague, for example, delicious, or the ones in Julianadorp – each one a mini-vacation dream for this (and the next, and the one after that) summer. But also take a look at the beach houses that belong to Beach Houses Key West For example. No super-slick website or an interior in fifty shades of white (impractical, with kids and a dog), but brightly colored houses on the beach of Katwijk aan Zee.. There are eight houses, two of which are brand new. The beach pavilion lovingly organizes a barbecue right in front of your own house (how cozy is that).
Another good tip: look for houses that are not actually on the beach, but on a lake, such as the Eco huts from Roompot on the Grevelingen beach. Perfect wooden huts. Some are closer together than others (great if you're traveling with a large group), or you might just have to try and find that hut that's conveniently located on the far side of the beach.
This is one of those where images say more, much more than words. No filter needed, nothing at all. Yes, just be quiet for a moment. That's allowed. How fun is this?! And how beautiful? And how delicious? Well, so much fun. Tastefully and comfortably furnished, it is suitable for even four adults. This will be possible again from May 11 place to be! Moreover, the location of the Hague Beach Houses is a surprisingly relaxed option for a day of getting a breath of fresh air: Kijkduin beach. There are exactly twenty beach houses in The Hague for rent. The luxurious houses are efficiently laid out and equipped with a nice shower and a fully equipped kitchenette. Although you will only use it to make coffee, because Kijkduin also has a lot of nice beach bars.
But of course we know beach bar Tulum Tulum (or Tulum Beach, whichever you prefer); put us there and you won't hear us all day. Everything is picture perfect thanks to the decor, which can best be described as if Bali and Scandinavia had a love baby. Those greedy items are also sold, it's called Ibiza Outdoor. It is not cheap and you have to make an appointment to come shopping (annoying though). But that wasn't what this was about. No no. Now take the other side of the Noordwijkse Zeereep. Then you attract a much less known but just as nice and good looking beach friend to: The Cool Costa. No bullshit here and hardly any of the watching and being watched that many beach bars have (blehg), but a relaxed energy and a menu as a beach bar should be: really tasty home-smoked salmon and a bulging hamburger. Let's go and get a spot quickly, thank us later. There is a chance that you don't want to leave anymore and let that come true now: the Koele Costa also rents out a few really nice beach houses. Sure, they're always full. Keep that in mind and book now for next summer. Then you'll be a great brapper.
For anyone who has seen it with all the white-wash-salty-driftwood-starfish-on-the-wall-general-seaness: look no further, because the beach houses are all design. Molecates. As part of a holiday park (read: camping-plus), they have fifteen sustainably built beach houses for six (!) people. Overlooking the beach and the sea, panoramic view and veranda. Bonus 1: for six men. Difficult to find. Bonus 2: the dog can also come along. Bonus 3: design. beach. sea. everything.
Who hasn't looked at those lovely beach houses on a hot summer day? Usually they are only for sale, but you can practice at the nicest houses on the coast in Katwijk aan Zee. They are for 4, large or small. But whether you go with friends or with your family, be selfish and claim the loft bedroom: wake up with only your own toes disturbing the view of the North Sea.
Waking up with the sun in your face, wind in your hair and feet in the sand. This is possible in the Beach Houses. You will not easily sleep closer to the sea: there is only the beach between your bed and the sea. Think beach house as you know it, but luxurious and with all the trimmings. And we really mean everything: a veranda, a sleeping loft, a cute kitchen and a simple but nice bathroom where you can turn your ass. The water just doesn't touch your feet here. And you have never had such a large garden as here, beach it is. From your lazy chair you have a picture-perfect view of the sea. Get up and wake up with a refreshing dip. Kids play in the sand and then at home, you understand, in your own beach house. Where? Just below Den Helder at the Strandhuisjes Julianadorp holiday park.
Camping de Laken
Right on the beach of North Holland Bloemendaal you will find Camping de Lakens and next to camping the old school way you can rent 'houses' there and of course they are around the corner from the beach.
The Dunelodge is also one of those, it is a tent with a wooden frame. So Tent is actually a bit secondary to what it really is. It is luxuriously furnished and thanks to the French doors, the inside and outside are almost one. And also nice, because of the covered veranda you can sit outside for a long time.
Or the Beachdome, which is also really great. There is room for six people and it is a dome that is worth a visit. You can see the stars from your tent, romantic much. The Dome is luxuriously furnished with its own kitchen and lovely bath.
If it is nice anywhere, it is on the coast, the Zeeland coast. Bløf knows it, we know it, you will too. Strandcamping Groede has mobile homes, veranda chalets and panoramic houses on the beach. When we hear that last one, we prick up our ears. Not that the rest of the campsite isn't nice, it is lovely and ideal with little ones, but in one of the fifteen panoramic houses you have a little more privacy and a view of the sea. The houses more than live up to their name thanks to the large windows that give you a view of the beach from every angle. If you open the doors you can walk straight onto the veranda, from where you can walk straight onto the beach and from there you can walk straight into the sea again... Well, you understand, it's not a bad thing to be. Each house has its own theme, including a creative name (from Avondzon to Buoy and Paalhoofd to Common Tern) and room for six people, four of whom are adults. When booking a house, you will automatically receive a reserved spot in the parking lot, which is a few minutes' walk away. Even the dog is welcome. If we have to mention one disadvantage of this place, it is that the houses are not on the beach in winter.
Slag Vlugtenburg is part of the Westland coast, between Hoek van Holland and The Hague and is, surprise, another undiscovered holiday destination in the Netherlands. Pristine. Real. That hehe-finally feeling. Sun, sea, sand. Surfing, yoga and tasty food, surrounded by the nature of the Hollandse Duinen National Park.
You sleep at Strandpark Vlugtenburg on the edge of the dunes or on (on!) the beach in a safari tent, gypsy wagon (a gypsy wagon on the beach, yes) or in a cabin bungalow. There is a restaurant in the park with an adjacent open-air playground – quite busy, yes, but the dream of the small stuff, and that is also worth something.
At Sun opulence there are plenty of options, from glamping to chalets and hiker's huts and yes, even camping. The latter always remains the last choice, especially with the prospect of all the aforementioned. Today in the spotlight are the beach houses, which in our humble opinion are the star players of the Zeeland beach. You ask why; we quietly point to the two (!) terraces, the kitchen with all the trimmings, the bathroom that is as a bathroom should be and then the most important thing... The view. It's so beautiful and completely for you, so bring tissues and sit in front of it because you can see the sea from practically every corner of the house. Also from bed, yes. A big plus is the blue flag that has been on the beach of Nieuwvliet-Bad for years, which means a clean and safe beach and therefore a guarantee of a fantastic view. It fits six people, four of whom are adults. Children are welcome at the campsite, very much so, so they have also been taken into account. The houses always have a cot and high chair, there is plenty of space to play in the living rooms and, of course, outside too. But that was already clear as day. Then the only question remains: who are you taking with you?
Have you ever heard of Willy Zuid? In Katwijk? Well, the people of Willy Zuid (top name by the way, that's aside) have a handful of delightful beach houses on the beach of Katwijk aan Zee. On. It. Beach. Enjoy. The comfortable beach bungalows are flanked by a nice beach bar with the same title and dogs are welcome. Extra bonus points for the option to choose your own house: if you get there on time and there are still a few houses available next to each other, then there is of course nothing more fun than having your neighbors as a bunch of friends. We're just making a suggestion.
The great thing about this is that you can book the beach house all year long. Because even when the weather is bad, the beach is still a nice place to get a breath of fresh air it is. They have two types here. Beach Houses with a sea view and Beach Houses XL with a beautiful view of the harbor. There is room for six people in both, so more than enough space if you are with kids.
A nice, a spacious kitchen, living room with TV, bathroom and a private terrace with nice sofas. There's nothing better than relaxing with a glass of rosé after a day at the beach.
You will find this wonderful place hidden behind the dunes on Schouwen-Duiveland. The fun here is it best of both worlds with the countryside of the Netherlands on one side, sometimes you can spot a deer yourself. If you look to the right you will see the sea and you might spot a seal.
You have something for everyone here; You can sleep here in a hotel room if you crave some luxury, a studio is also nice with small kids glamping tent, lodge or you bring your own tent. It's difficult to choose. They all have one thing in common, everything is less than 150 meters from the beach, kudos.
