The Luxia is the seventh address of the Parisian hotel group Touriste, founded in 2008 by Adrien Gloaguen. In recent years, the group has made a name for itself with a series of quirky boutique hotels such as Hotel Les Deux Gares, Hotel Panache, Beauregard Hotel en Hotel de la Boétie where a different designer was given free rein each time. Moreover, it is always a different talented designer who gets to design a hotel for the first time, making every address unique. Even more importantly: the Touriste hotels are known for their competitive prices—certainly by Parisian standards. There is never a restaurant (because that keeps the price competitive).

Necchi Architecture designed the Luxia, and it is once again quite different from all the other hotels in the group. Here, soft and muted beige tones, diffused light, and no statement interior, but plenty of atmosphere. The 44 rooms are designed as small urban refuges: a place from which to explore Paris, but just as easily a place where you simply want to linger. And there is a spa! Small but perfectly formed, sure, but it is a spa, and that is delightful. The location, in particular, is a major asset: the hotel sits between the hustle and bustle of the Marché Saint-Pierre and the more hidden alleys of Montmartre, where bohemian Paris is still tangible.
