Vintage glamor at Hotel Marqi in Sintra, Portugal
One of the most beautiful villages in Europe is Sintra in Portugal. A fairytale village with palaces, stately and dilapidated mansions and narrow roads with centuries-old trees. At the foot of Sintra you will find hotel Marqi. A classic Portuguese mansion transformed into a mid-century slash 70's cool hotel. Where you can recuperate wonderfully in the shade of the trees, tannan at the poolside or walking to one of the beautiful, wild beaches. Then the only question remains, when are we going to this vintage glamor spot?
The great thing about Portugal is that it has not been overrun for decades by crowds of tourists and associated – often poorly executed – mass renovations. Portugal is still authentic. And those typical Portuguese, sometimes somewhat dilapidated, interiors are now being beautifully renovated, while retaining original elements. Portugal has beautiful hotels, delicious restaurants and an authentic atmosphere. Just the way we like it.
Hotel Marqi has proven its charm. The eight hotel rooms are all unique and decorated with vintage design. A poolside with bar, a large lobby, fireplaces and various terraces ask for your biggest sunglasses, your most beautiful swimsuit and dresses to be included in your suitcase for a bit of vintage glamour. Although the Portuguese west coast also asks for you to hop along the wild beaches in your shorts and slippers. We are already looking forward to it.
