The most beautiful hotels in Genoa, Italy

Genoa is a historic port city in northwestern Italy. Genoa's old town is a maze of narrow streets (alleys) and squares, with beautiful medieval buildings, Baroque churches, and impressive palaces. Plenty of reasons to explore, especially when you know the city is considered the birthplace of Columbus. We've already explored the city's hotels: these are the most beautiful hotels in Genoa.

Capitolo Riviera

Capitolo Riviera

Capitolo Riviera is a design hotel in Nervi, a charming suburb of Genoa. The architects at Parisotto + Formenton Architetti wanted to create a "hotel in a park" atmosphere, and they certainly succeeded. The large tree on the terrace was not cut down but used as a central focal point. It looks beautiful and provides shade. The swimming pool provides additional cooling. The interior uses natural materials like wood and concrete to continue the ambiance.

Hotel Palazzo Grillo

Hotel Palazzo Grillo

Grillo Palace The palace was built in the 16th century by order of a group of aristocrats. The money was well spent, including on sculptures, tiled floors, and stately staircases. The palace's potential lay unused for a long time, until it was transformed into a hotel in 2011. A lot of work, but the result is impressive. Many authentic elements have been preserved. Fortunately, because it would have been a shame to paint over the artwork on the walls and ceilings.

Hotel Continental

Hotel Continental

Continental often sounds somewhat simple and meaningless. Yet that is certainly not what comes to mind when you see Hotel ContinentalThe interior features soft colors, and the walls feature cheerful fish wallpaper. The fish served at Trattoria Tralalêro are slightly less cheerful, but still delicious. And while the hotel is stylishly decorated, the restaurant's decor is truly sweet and inviting. This is mainly due to the powdery pink on the walls and the checkered tablecloths in similar shades.
