Kas di Laman in Willemstad is beautiful, cozy and above all the perfect base for exploring Curacao
No cash, but a hotel closet. The suites and apartments of Kas di Laman are located in 19th century mansions in Willemstad. Right in the center and with a tropical garden it is a perfect base for exploring Curacao and all places from our e-book. The greatest pleasure when it comes to Kas di Laman, one of the unique, small-scale ByJune destinations? That you can property zo Kura Hulanda Village rolls in, in our opinion the nicest part of Curaçao: it is a mini village, with alleys for nice shops and a village square with the best restaurants on the island (and regularly live, music).
Kas di Laman is located in the colorful district of Otrobanda, in the heart of Willemstad, in the heart of Curacao. Once not the place you wanted to go, but nowadays it is an artistic district full of murals that is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. And so are the houses of Kas di Laman: they are also colorful, but at the same time sleek and modern, with here and there a cozy accessory.
One of the suites has its own plunge pool that is just big enough for a refreshing dip, and you share the communal pool that is half hidden between the palm leaves. If you want more water, you can drive to the beach within fifteen minutes. Where there is water, there are mosquitoes. No dealbreakers, but good to keep in mind when packing your suitcase. Fortunately, the windows have mosquito nets and there is mosquito spray available.
In the intro we already mentioned the tropical garden, and not without reason. Wonderfully quiet, with a swimming pool and enough places to find both sun and shade. For the best shade, you can settle down under the old Kenepa tree, for the most comfort you can stretch out on a lounger. Another comfortable thing about staying at Kas di Laman is that there are a lot of cozy bars and restaurants nearby. Maira's Kitchen for example, across the street, the place to go for the days when you don't feel like making your own breakfast (trust us: the breakfast at Maira's Kitchen is divine). For an authentic local meal, Plasa Bieu is recommended (and you can read more about that, as mentioned, in our e-book).
