Yes yes yes, it's that time of the year again! Snuggle up together and/or sit down at a restaurant; we love. If you don't fancy cooking extensively yourself (including all the groceries...) (every day), but you do fancy the cosiness of home: pick-up and home delivery of festive (Christmas) meals is the option.he bomb! Here are a handful of delicious addresses throughout the Netherlands, where you can enjoy three- (or four-, five-, six-) course meals or simple, but oh so tasty bites. It IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Perhaps the best tip on this list (we've been hooked for years): eatSOUS. We know Restaurant Neni in Amsterdam South for its delicious Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and cozy atmosphere. Last year, the NENI team put together a Holiday Seasonal Special Christmas Box especially for Christmas. It features a variety of festive dishes selected and prepared by the chef. From vegetarian and vegan to meat and fish. Something for everyone. All you have to do is pick it up and... ready to serve! And to our great delight, Neni is doing it again this year. For two people, you pay €90 for a box full of tits, and for four people, you pay €170.
For years, one of our all-time favorites during the holidays: Frank's Smoke House in Amsterdam East. Although Frank is always a good idea. In his smokehouse, Frank's Smokehouse, everything on the menu is smoked, hence the name. Frank's Smoke House Amsterdam. A wonderful place for a pleasant evening and the address where guests are warmly welcomed during holidays takeaway. No bullshit is the credo and an above all enjoyable evening is the main goal. And that can be done at home if it is up to Frank & co.
For Christmas this year, Frank's team has, as usual, a whole smoked turkey, venison stew and sweet potato puree with chestnuts. But Frank's salmon is also unsurpassed, even during Christmas.
This one is so obvious that you probably just forgot about it for that reason. We do. But drop by your (local) artisan butcher. There is a good chance that this person has bought and prepared all kinds of special things especially for the holidays. For your gourmet, certainly, but also a lot of ready-made delicacies. Our favorite butchers? Louman-Jordaan, JWO (sandwich shop and caterer actually), De Leeuw, De Schuyt…
O! And another no brainer that you often forget for that very reason, but where it is simply very good, year in and year out: Brasserie van Dam.
Recommended many times and that is why we dare to recommend Sab and her deli here for the best (Christmas) meal, even without telling Sab her goodies even tasted. At the Scheldeplein in Amsterdam South you can enjoy the homely dishes of Sabine Sluis. All year long, and the holidays in particular. There are different menus and you can ask Sabine & co what they consist of. We are particularly fond of the option that you can even pick up your dinner on Christmas Day, so that you can enjoy the festive meal fresh on Boxing Day (again). Kudos!

Is it your turn to put a real Christmas dinner on the table this year? Stress? Don't worry! With the Christmas menu from Lindenhoff (that farm with the tastiest fresh products) puts delicious dishes for everyone on the table. You can choose from a three-course dinner or mix & match with all the goodies.
A pizza is always welcome, even at Christmas. But one that is slightly more special and festive than the standard margherita. You must have the pizzas from Europizza, one of our absolutes top restaurants in Amsterdam (and certainly not just for pizza). You can simply order on the website Europizza (closed on Christmas Day) or grab a few from the freezer at one of the many Stach locations around the city. Everybody happy!
