The 12 children's bicycles (tips) of the moment
There comes a time when the balance bike (alone) is no longer sufficient and it is time for that the real deal. Then the offspring can choose their first real bicycle and we are happy to guide you through that process a little bit bee. Nothing wrong with a hysterical pink steed, but there are nicer retro children's bicycles, and there are also a number of sustainable variants for sale. In our opinion, these are the best children's bicycles for your mini:
De Veloretti MiniWho doesn't know him. Our Dutch bicycle makers simply still supply the most beautiful (children's) bicycles for all ages in the most beautiful colors - we can't do anything else. That handsome mini friend of our own favorite bike could already be updated with training wheels (see below) but the Amsterdammers from Veloretti have news and that's really fun: the Veloretto Tricyle, a sturdy tricycle in the most beautiful Veloretti colors (of course) which you can easily convert into a two-wheel balance bike, and this is really brilliant news! Ha!
The Tricycle is for 1,5 to 4 years old and can be converted into the Mini, which is for 2 to 4 year olds. Veloretti also offers the Maxi (4-6 years) and the Junior (5-8 years). Let's go!
As we speak, Veloretti now also has a 10% discount on all children's bicycles - that makes a difference! Use BTS10 at check out and you're done.
Not just one bicycle, but a collection of sustainable bicycles for minis can be found on the newfietsie.nl. The site is simple and well-organized: tricycle balance bikes, balance bikes and children's bikes. And a section of tips on what to pay attention to when purchasing a bicycle, including size label. Look, that's really something for us!
Tokyobike is a friendly Japanese brand that designs bicycles for cruising in the city. Tokyo, but also in Amsterdam, Zwolle or Harlingen your UK will steal the show with this sleek bike. The simple and functional designs come in fresh unisex colors. The frame contains a built-in handle so that parents can easily lift the bicycle. And we all know how useful that is when those last meters prove to be just too far. This children's bicycle does have an adult price and can be purchased via Alley Cat in Maastricht (Alley Cat Bikes Coffee), Tokyo Bike NYC)
Slightly less expensively priced and at least as stylish is the Veloretti Maxi. Don't be misled by the name, because this version is definitely for your mini (from three to six years). Of course, we already know the Amsterdam brand from its oh-so-beautiful ones bicycles for adults and now you can also order such a nice one for your UK online. Favorite color? Havana blue, of course. Would junior like to try on the bike and take it for a test ride? This is also possible at the Bijenkorf or in the Veloretti showroom at Van Woustraat number 72 in Amsterdam.
Oh, and if that no-longer-so-tiny one of yours starts racing, then the bicycle helmets from Veloretti also a very (very!) good tip. As far as we are concerned, the best looking helmets of all helmets. And so safe.
If you let your four-year-old chick choose a bike for herself, she will undoubtedly choose the Gingersnap from Bobbin Bikes. And don't blame her. This London girls' bicycle is available in the sweet colors mint green or pink and comes standard with a basket. Don't do anything about it anymore. In the Netherlands, available through coffee shop and bicycle shop Kamu in Breda (Kamu), Bobbin Bikes.com
Although we haven't yet figured out how to get this beauty in the Netherlands, we don't want to deprive it of it. The Sprout C1 from PUBLIC is so cool. It will either be a fire engine red version or a very light blue version. What makes it so unique are the bright white wheels. Unlike the other bicycles in this list, the Sprout only has a coaster brake. Public
Little boys, in turn, are happy with it Popal Cooper in very dark blue, green or matt black. The cheapest of the whole bunch, but you can't tell. A sturdy bicycle with beautiful leather handles and saddle. This bicicletta comes standard with training wheels and here again the option to place a crate on the front.
Adventurous and tough boys and girls will want nothing more than to get on the Gecko bike from Clearly bikes and cycle around with it for hours - and we understand that all too well. A sturdy bicycle that is available in many colors. The only thing… it comes all the way from sunny California, but hey who are we to care about this beauty still not worth mentioning. Clearly bikes
Although we normally consider Alpina to be on the solid side, we can... Role appreciate. And let's face it, when it comes to a first children's bicycle, solidity is not a deal breaker. In fact, a bit of vandalism is a must. For girls there is a choice of old pink and light blue and boys have the options of black or army green. You can mount a crate at the front and you can order training wheels in funky colors separately.
