Into the avenue and through the Klompen paths in Gelderland Utrecht

Put on your clogs, backpack and go! That is the motto of Klompen paths, a collection of more than 100 walking routes through Gelderland and Utrecht where you walk on land that farmers have released. What do we do to clear our heads, burn calories and discover new places? Correct! We pull wear good footwear (let's leave those clogs for what they are), escape our busy lives and step into nature. Bring on the fresh air!

Everyone's new hobby during the corona pandemics and all the lockdowns: walking. However, with the caveat that it must be a bit adventurous and varied. How about walking across farmland and estates? Or through forests, along streams or floodplains? Download the Klompen paths app and you will be served at your beck and call. Here you will find the most beautiful walking routes with varied landscapes. And all trails are developed and maintained in collaboration with local volunteers. Beautiful, right?

The walks are clearly listed in the app and vary from 4 to around 20 kilometers. You can also choose from different distances on many routes or you can shorten the walk if things aren't going so well. For the those hards among us: you can combine several Klompenpads for a multi-day walk. There are also special (short) routes that you can do with the little ones, the so-called KIDS Clog Paths. It's safe to say that walking is boring for children when you see the assignments they can perform via the app. Questions about special animals or about an old fort you pass turn the walks into one big discovery tour for the little ones among us. Leave the stroller at home, because the routes partly consist of unpaved paths. And the Klompen paths are also not an option for your four-legged friend because you can bump into sheep, cows and other animals along the way.

All Klompen paths can be downloaded via the free app so that you can follow the tour offline. Very nice if you want to completely relax. In addition, the routes themselves are indicated by an image of clogs. So you don't actually need a road map; all Klompenpads are easy to follow due to the road signs.

Each route indicates how you can reach the starting point by public transport. And it's so easy: the starting point is always the end point. You can also read information about special cultural-historical places that you encounter along the way. And the map shows where you can go for coffee or lunch, although you can of course also choose to laid back eating your sandwiches on a rug in nature.
