Five good places for coffee in Maastricht

Coffee is such an 'always good' product: from a Sunday morning to a weekday, a quick coffee at a bar or an extensive coffee date. Never enough coffee. Not so either Maastricht. The five tastiest/not to be missed/best/most special oh-so-delicious coffee in Maastricht. To save.

At Joost & Maartje

Near the Jekerkwartier - a good plan to go there anyway, because there are many nice places - you will find a perfect place for coffee. Namely 'At Joost & Maartje'. An acclaimed coffee shop and for good reason. Dark roast coffee, clean & light interior (unique in Maastricht), a long inviting table and delicious cakes. The fact that after your coffee you can pop into the same building at the Le Marais Deux concept store to take something with you at home makes this coffee shop complete.

According to many people, it is the most beautiful bookstore in our country and who are we to argue with that? The Dominican Church is an 11th century church downtown Maastricht. Since 2008, it has been converted into a bookstore and coffee bar. This means enjoying a Caramel Croquant coffee (yum) on the altar of the former church, with of course a piece of Limburg pie and a good book. The coffee comes from the Blanchedael coffee roaster, a household name in Maastricht and worth a visit. A cute little place to take freshly roasted coffee beans home.

Van Wijck

Want to break through that autumn sun again? Quickly to the small bistro tables outside on the terrace in the Wyck district, where this coffee and breakfast place is hidden. The good news? At 08.00 a.m. - yes, even on weekends - the first cup of coffee is served here. Besides being a nice spot, it is photogenic. And honestly: the coffee always tastes a little better. Also during a morning meeting at 08.00 p.m.

Fixed Gear Coffee

For the sports enthusiasts among us: almost the only hills in our country are in the south. Let this coffee shop respond to that. In this Scandinavian-feeling coffee shop, they combine coffee with many bicycle-related materials. Oh and the staff here are the nicest. So for those cycling fanatics who also appreciate a good coffee, this is the place to be. Then climb the Cauberg.

The city park

The city park

Okay okay, not a coffee shop, but in our opinion a perfect coffee place. On the edge of the Jekerkwartier there are several parks that are wonderful to escape the ever-busy Maastricht. This also applies to the city park. Have a coffee to go join us at Le Salonard, for example, and plant yourself - again beautiful with all the autumn colors - in the city park. An oasis of peace, perfect for strolling around.
