Although we associate La Posta Vecchia with Dua Lipa, the place was a memorable spot long before her birth. The current villa was built in 1640 for a noble family and served as the private residence of art collector Jean Paul Getty in the 1960s. He filled the house with Renaissance furniture, tapestries, antique art, and Roman sculptures. During restoration work, remains of a Roman villa from the 2nd century BC were discovered; these archaeological finds are now on display in the hotel's own museum. In the 21st century, the hotel itself remains just as elegant, with bed skirts, velvet, and rustic furniture.
