Little Escapes in the Netherlands: Estate in the Morelleput

Converting a potato field into an estate with bed & breakfast... Bij Estate in the Morelleput in Zeeland (ooo yes, summer in Zeeland is really an excellent idea! Check out many more Zeeland tips here) they just did it. It went something like this: in 2002, owner Jan was tired of farming, always alone on the land. That had to be more fun, right? Something with the whole family perhaps? This is how it happened: fast forward to 2020 and then there was the holiday-leisure-style estate including professional kitchen, house and B&B. Mission accomplished.

Not only does the bright turquoise exterior of the house look delicious, because for now we are focusing on the B&B; the inside is just as attractive. Old Dutch cozy with a nice dress or checkered print everywhere you look. The B&B consists of four rooms with names of old Zeeland-Flemish villages such as Scherpbier and Sinte Pier, each with its own view over the nature reserve, from which you are only three hundred meters away.

Breakfast is ready every morning (including homemade desserts, let's just say) and next to the house you will find the tea garden where you can eat fresh home-baked cake in the summer. That one tea garden is open to anyone who wants to drop by, which means there is a constant pleasant atmosphere. Take advantage of the sugar peak by exploring the area by bike or walking, or at least get a breath of fresh air on the beach.
