The lively holiday homes of Largo – just relux (+ dogs welcome)
The people of Largo hit the nail on the head with their slogan: just relax. Relax in luxury. Bacon to our mouth.
It is extra nice that LARGO resorts are always near water, whether it is a lake, the sea or a puddle. After all: water is part of a holiday. And luxury too, we think. And what that luxury looks like sometimes varies. It's nice that the people at Largo also take that into account, because you can reach it LARGO North Sea Resort Vlissingen, one of the many Largo destinations in the Netherlands (soon you can book Largo via Creampot) choose from three different houses. Small and nice, in the middle of the beach? More space and more greenery? Or a complete villa with garden in the sun? So that's all possible. Oh, and all three are a stone's throw from the sea and Vlissingen. So this is enjoyment between city and beach, with both nature and culture. Vlissingen, here we come.
Waking up with the sun in your face, wind in your hair and feet in the sand. This is possible in the Beach Houses. You will not easily sleep closer to the sea: there is only the beach between your bed and the sea. Think beach house as you know it, but luxurious and with all the trimmings. And we really mean everything: a veranda, a sleeping loft, a cute kitchen and a simple but nice bathroom where you can turn your ass. Or you don't use the shower at all, but run straight into the sea with that same bare butt, and you wake up straight away. Sexy beach coupe included.
If you want to be a stone's throw from the beach, the dune lodges are for you. Wait, not just one beach, but no fewer than six beaches within a pebble-throwing distance, just over the dune. The lodges are located against the dunes and on a two-kilometre-long boulevard. And if there is sun, you have it, because the entire boulevard faces south. Vlissingen is practically in your backyard (but while maintaining your privacy of course). If those six beaches are not to your liking, you can always spend a day digging holes on Nolle beach. Also nice when there is wind (heu, Netherlands), because the Nolle beach is located in a lagoon.
Would you rather not go to Vlissingen and enjoy cooking yourself? This is possible, because the dune lodge has a large kitchen, a nice dining table (also outside of course) and a large sofa to relax on. A sleek interior, but with warm wooden details.
And sun and the beach and the city and lots of luxury? Then your choice is quickly made, because Urban Villas (yes, it's in the name) are ready for you. Perfect place for all year round! The large windows face south, so you sit with your face in the sun all day long. You can do this on your own terrace, but if there is a fresh breeze, you can sit inside. Next to the wood stove, extra cozy. You can also sleep well, because every Urban Villa has a box spring. And the Urban Villas are also nice and sustainable because of the moss that functions as a natural insulation layer on the roof. If you know that, you will of course sleep extra well.
There is also plenty to do in the area, if you don't want to spend a day on the beach (because you are terribly burned, for example..) Go to Vlissingen, sit on a terrace, sit for far too long, you know the drill. Or go on a sea safari across the Scheldt estuary and take way too many photos of all those sunbathing seals. If you plan it well, you can go in September and be a whiskey geek right away Whiskey by the Sea festival. Zero reasons not to go to Vlissingen and to reluxes at LARGO.
