Barts Best Of: Brunch in Paris

Paris, the city of love and where everyone walks like it is a fashion show. We love it. What better people-watching destination than Paris? There are enough (we know), but Paris is a perfect candidate for this. How wonderful is it to start your day with the necessary coffee and croissant or baguette while you can watch everything that walks by? Sounds like a very good plan if you ask us. So we come up with a selection of the best and tastiest places where you can do this. And this list will certainly be added to! So keep a close eye on them.

Want to know where to get the best coffee in Paris? You read hererrrr.

The bar

The bar

Buvette is a all-time favorite. From New York to Paris, you can come here for your perfect (hangover) brekkie, but also certainly for a boozy lunch, a glass of wine at the bar or dinner in the evening. So you can go to Buvette all day long.

mokonuts

Not Coconuts maar mokonuts. This small café is named after owner Moko, who, together with her husband Omar, is ready to prepare the tastiest seasonal dishes for you. Reservations are a must, as is trying the famous cookies. So make sure you leave a hole or take them with you to enjoy later.

Season

Season

You especially want to Season for the healthy and delicious breakfast, and a lunch of the same kind. Pancakes with bacon and crispy syrup, matcha and açai bowls (both seasonal), four different types of muesli, bagels with egg, avocado and all kinds of spreads - you can put together yourself - and, as befits the French, a variety of cakes. For a change, the place is not tiny, but spacious and light, and after the (early) lunch the place empties out and it is definitely a favorite for an hour spent on the laptop. Oh yes, and this place deserves extra bonus points for the lovely terrace they have.

Saint Pearl

Saint Pearl

You will find it close to Pont Neuf Saint Pearl, a small (yes, very small) building without a toilet, which is admittedly a downside, but otherwise it is passable. Here you can drink the most delicious matchas but also very good cappuccinos at the sunny tables or indoors. The brunch menu has all the classics: avo toast, eggs benedict, omelette, pancakes. A real local tip? The matcha cinnamon bun. Cinnamon roll with matcha.

Cafe Charlotte

Cafe Charlotte

We wrote about it in 2013, when we had not had this site live for very long, and the neighborhood bistro opposite the entrance of Le Market some child red (tip tip tip!! this is a covered market square on the RUE de Brittany, inconspicuously next to the cheesemonger. And also the place where young and yup Paris can shop for fresh groceries and where you can enjoy a budget-friendly meal) more than worth it. Bee Cafe Charlotte can you go for a typical French breakfast, complete with an egg, coffee and fresh orange juice for about 11 euros. Or for bagels, burgers and fries in a cone. And ice cream House Berthillon, the best ice cream in town (according to Café Charlot).

The Ritz

The Ritz

Fancy something sweet and especially a fancy lunch? Book the high tea in The RITZ, marvel at all that glitters and go with a doggy bag home, really not that you have the whole high tea gets it! And if that is the case, congratulations. Recommended: take the champagne range – they serve the Ritz, Champagne Barons de Rothschild! Healthcare!

Ten Belles

Ten Belles

Ten Belles is perhaps our biggest favorite. Why? Because she excels in everything she does. They bake bread, make delicious lunch and brunch, but they also make exceptionally good coffee. With a bit of luck you can sit on the stools at the window outside, and that is also a very nice picture.

holybelly

holybelly

In the tenth arrondissement (where there are many nice places to eat and drink, such as Cafe Smörgas) do you think holybelly. A 'Melbourne style café', as they say, with not only excellent coffee but also an insanely delicious breakfast. Like the stack of pancakes with fresh fruit, nuts and maple syrup. You will have to wait a while for a table, because it is always busier than busy.

MAO DUMPLING BAR

MAO DUMPLING BAR

If you come during rush hour (i.e. lunch), you can expect a line. With some patience or at a slightly later time in the day, you can do it Mao Dumpling Bar rightly so and eat the tastiest dumplings ever. Go for the cheesy Jiaozi with melted Emmentaler, and you are guaranteed to enjoy it. Nothing else to say.

LA TERASSE MADAME

LA TERASSE MADAME

For a morning coffee in Paris with a croissant we go to La Terasse Madame. From breakfast to dinner afternoon tea it is always a good time here. Nice after a walk in the park, after a cultural morning at the Luxembourg Museum, or after a visit to Saint Germain des Prés (you know, the district with the chic shops, restaurants and the medieval church Église). A nice terrace with nice chairs, tables, you know the nice French ones swing, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, under the trees, with a lovely view.
