The Happiness Café

The Happiness Café

Hip, hipper, hippest. But without compromising on quality. Here you can eat delicious and pure, in a relaxed setting where everyone is welcome - even with dietary requirements. Vegetarian? Vegan? Gluten-free, nut-free, sugar-free or lactose-free? You call, they play.

We came for coffee, stayed for breakfast and lunch… and ended up on the terrace in the sun. Perfect spot for people watching, btw.

On the menu (for lunch and dinner): yoghurt breakfasts, smoothie bowls, fresh juices, avocado toasts, healthy salads, organic coffee and cakes to die for (my lord – that banana bread! That carrot cake!). And then we haven't even mentioned the flatbread with pulled chicken. Yummy.

Taste

Taste

For a hearty bite, but an oh-so-good one, you have to go to the Italian in town. Taste is never disappointing for dinner and we can say exactly the same about lunch. No nonsense, just really good sandwiches. Or yes, we should actually say paninos, the Italian translation. And no, bee Taste a panino is not one of those flattened baguette with melted cheese in between. They serve the real thing panino, and it is particularly richly topped. The panino roma is highly recommended; a white, warm panino with fresh pear, gorgonzola, walnuts and arugula.

Best hangover roll? Score it at 't Stokpaardje. Not for the long sit, but for the quick BOEM. Butcher shop 't Stokpaardje has been a household name in the city since 1985. No fuss here, just good meat, free from preservatives, antibiotics, flavour enhancers and colourings. They work with regional suppliers and you can taste that.

At the front of the butcher shop you can get the best barbecue dishes for home. But at the back… where the magic happens. The sandwich counter. Thickly topped, well seasoned and just what you need after a night of drinking too much.

Zero73

Zero73

Are they as advanced in Brabant with vegetarian and vegan options as in the Randstad? We dare not say that, but where they at least know how to do it is at Zero73. The menu is not entirely vegan (although you should try the vegan shrimp and vegan shawarma), they also have burgers, croquettes and carpaccio.

Nice decor, nice hidden courtyard and the friendliest staff. The terrace at the front also expanded relatively recently. In any case, it only became more pleasant and pleasant.

NomNom

NomNom

The nice tent is located at a Y-junction in the nice Uilenburg district, in the same corner as THIS aka NomNom. Yes... the name already reveals that you can enjoy it (#nomnomnom, dude). That's right: NomNom's eclectic menu has something for everyone, but it must be healthy. The mushroom & kimchi toast is highly recommended. And that terrace is damn good. Try leaving there again after your lunch.

Hast? The little sister, Fifty/Fifty, has tacos & salads to go!

Café Herman

Café Herman

Café Herman, the cozy restocafé in a former water tower, is where you want to hang out. Fiona, Bas and the permanent team run a restocafé where it's all about seasonal, colorful and green food, a nice drink and a relaxed atmosphere.

Inside it is cozy (especially in the winter), outside you can sit sunny on the terrace at the front of the tower. Think: wine that makes you happy, a cooling full of beers from classics and young dogs from the brewing world, and a menu full of bites and dishes that taste like another glass.

You are welcome from Wednesday to Saturday from 15.00:13.00, and on Sunday from 18.00:XNUMX (then with an extensive snack menu and kitchen until XNUMX:XNUMX). Reservations are allowed, spontaneous drop-ins are also welcome.

Picasso

Picasso

Indecisive type? Bee Picasso Lunch is made easy for you in Kerkstraat. There are dishes that are served in the form of three or four; a trio of bread or a quartet of fish for example. And do you really not remember? The Hieronymus Bosch palette and the Picasso tapas special, palette for two people, are pretty much the best on the menu together.

Is the weather going well? The courtyard that can be covered and heated is wonderful.

Anne&Max

Anne&Max

The Anne&Max in Den Bosch is located in the heart of the city center, in a characteristic and monumental building. The romantic conservatory borders the waters of the Bossche Binnendieze. The perfect setting to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with a newspaper, or an extensive breakfast. At Anne&Max you can go for breakfast, lunch, cakes and drinks, where all products are purely natural and as much organic as possible, and you can taste that. We love. This location in Den Bosch is also very nice to rent for birthdays or baby showers.

Drab

Drab

Perhaps this place is better described as a coffee shop, but a very nice one. Bee Drab (and at Fortin too) you drink good coffee in a nice atmosphere. Why is this one at lunch spots? In addition to a cup of hot happiness, they also have a lunch menu and the chicken hoisin sandwich is divine.

Dining bar THIS

Dining bar THIS

DIT is fun. And THIS is delicious. THIS is fun and THIS has been a favorite for a long time! In the center of Den Bosch, in the Snellestraat to be precise, this is a classic case of 'particularly nice tent'. The service is always up for a chat and relaxed. The menu is written with a wink and is even fun for the kids. What's the pot for lunch? Literally everything: from salads to sandwiches to falafel burgers and a Turkish pizza.

Marian Pavilion

Marian Pavilion

It is located near the old sanatorium of the demolished Groot Ziekengasthuis on the edge of Den Bosch Marian Pavilion, a café-restaurant from the same owner as Eetbar DIT (a all time favorite in Den Bosch, and you can feel it in everything that it is from the same owner. Only good). The Maria Pavilion is located a bit further away between the parking garage there and the Arena, so yes, you do have to look for it. But it's worth it. The pavilion has a large and nice terrace decorated as, well, as a beach actually, exactly that atmosphere that you normally find at the seaside. Inside, the business consists of several small rooms (which you can also rent privately). Everything inspired by one old school hospital – a not-so-subtle reference to the building's former zoning plan.

NEIGHBOURHOOD

NEIGHBOURHOOD

One of the favorites of many residents of Den Bosch. This place, restaurant NEIGHBORHOOD in Den Bosch, is exactly what the name promises: a wonderful neighborhood hangout. Nothing more and nothing less, but yes the right way. Buurt's terrace is remarkably spacious with a panoramic view (read: good for people watching) and has sun for a long time. Buurt serves everything from small pizzas to share to burgers.

The Farm

The Farm

Going for a walk? Then walk on to D'n Boerderij. A nice quiet place on the outskirts of the city. Ideal for a walk around the block and great nature. No fuss on the menu, but classic favorites such as spicy chicken and farmer's specials with Sap d'n Boerderij on the side.

The SHOEGE

The SHOEGE

If you are looking for the 'talk of the town' from Den Bosch, you know, one of those trendy places that has been loudly shouted about, then you should definitely go to The SHOEGE in Den Bosch. The building where restaurants 't Misverstant, brasserie Méprise and Vrielink were located for many years was extensively renovated, and when the doors opened again in May 2019, there was the warm The SHOEGE. Weird name? Not too bad. This comes from the Yiddish concept of 'sjoege' which means 'to have an understanding of something'. And that is because the owners gained quite a bit of catering experience in the city. Do you know Pappenheimers? We find dishes from all over the world on the surprising menu.

Freight

Freight

We have been looking forward to Fret for a long time and even though they are quite new in Den Bosch, it is already a hit. Freight is burgundy and vegetable. Just delicious and rich food, but secretly vegan. A breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant that will make anyone with a preference for plant-based or vegetarian very happy. And you can take even the most die-hard meat eater there with peace of mind.

Fret is located in the cozy Postelstraat. A handsome eatery in the style of a classic bistro in combination with Scandinavian minimalism and a raw Berlin edge.
