Maison Haas Hustinx, Maastricht
Spending the night in one of the nicest (and most child-friendly) cities in the Netherlands is of course highly recommended. If it also concerns a stylish and hospitable boutique hotel that is located practically ON the city's main square, the choice is quickly made. We are talking about Maison Haas Hustinx on the Vrijthof in Maastricht, one luxury boutique hotel with seventeen accommodations in two
monumental buildings from 1920 on the Vrijthof. And with luxury we mean too luxury: there is a private parking near the hotel, its beautiful
rooms are equipped with designer furniture, breakfast (however extensive) is served in the conservatory that connects the two buildings and there is the modern spa 'Sanctum' with a swimming pool, sauna, hammam, relaxation area and treatment room for massages and facials, among other things. So it's a good place to be there.
Since its inception in 2012, the hotel has received various awards every year and is in the top five of the best accommodations in Maastricht.
The location on the Vrijthof does not mean that you cannot relax here. The hustle and bustle on and around the square (particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings) is barely noticeable inside. No crowds here, but a small team of young, enthusiastic employees who give you personal treatment. This way, you will receive some restaurant and museum tips upon arrival.
With a central location like this, it is nice to be able to retreat to your room for a while between shopping, eating or experiencing culture. And that is not a punishment! The wonderfully spacious rooms and suites in the hotel are furnished with designer furniture from Hay, Vitra and Moroso, among others, and are all equipped with a flat-screen TV, Apple TV and a nice rain shower or bath. Some rooms even have their own terrace. Add a nice drink from the well-stocked minibar and the temptation not to leave the room at all is great.
