For all Amsterdammers: a night just outside the city, in Zaandam for example, is a kind of holiday. To all non-Amsterdam residents: from Zaandam you can reach Amsterdam CS in 12 minutes. For those who care: Manzo Suites. The new boutique hotel has 12 rooms; suites and city rooms and especially the suites are more than worth booking. They are huge, first of all, and with a gigantic round jacuzzi in the middle of the room from which you can roll straight into the equally gigantic bed (or the other way around of course). Manzo's doesn't do paper; everything you need to know, including what's going on in the city, a radio, explanation about the room and the restaurant on the ground floor, can be found on the TV that you can 'connect' to your laptop or telephone. And you can even watch television on it. When you're done with the jacuzzi, or you can get out of the wonderful shower (with the coolest taps I saw in a hotel. And the most original shampoo-cream rinse-shower gel bottles). You don't have to leave the hotel as the bar plus brasserie Manzo's on the ground floor is exactly where you want to sit during an outing; cozy, busy, among the locals and with a delicious burger and ditto steak on the menu.
