The best museums in Paris (kid-friendly!)

Visiting a museum and taking your children to Paris impossible? think twiceWe've worked on a list of places where you can have fun, but also the little ones.

More Paris? Yes yes!

Paris at its best

Paris at its best

Planning a trip to Paris without hours of research? We’ve gathered the very best of the city in the Barts Boekje Paris Guide. From restaurants worth cycling for to the most beautiful hotels, nicest neighborhoods, and addresses you’d otherwise walk right past.

Bourse du Commerce

Bourse du Commerce

Of course, the Bourse du Commerce is at the top of the list. Even after many visits, this museum remains a wonderful place. From the entrance, you step straight into the magnificent, large, circular space, which will also be breathtaking for your children. The building itself is a story in itself: an imposing 19th-century stock exchange with a gigantic glass dome, where you can ascend one floor at a time.

Besides the permanent collection, there's always something new to discover in every period, always with a modern twist. Think of balloons floating through space that you can chase, or installations you can play with and create your own art.

Picasso Museum

In terms of location, we think it's the best. After strolling past Merci, Frankie Shop, and Bonton, you can just pop into the Picasso Museum around the corner. For kids, there's a little booklet available at reception, which you can use to playfully navigate through all the works. The style of the paintings also encourages you to think about all sorts of things, thanks to the playful way the art is created. The playful spaces in the building also make it feel like a maze for kids, making it even more fun to wander through.

Centre Pompidou

Centre Pompidou

Create a no-brainer: If you ask us. From the outside, you can't miss it, and no sane person would want to. Those colorful pipes, right in the middle of the city, attract all the attention (and rightly so!).

Inside, one of the world's finest collections of modern and contemporary art awaits. From Picasso to Kandinsky, from Mondrian to thought-provoking contemporary installations. There's always something for kids to do on the ground floor. Be sure to check the website beforehand, as there are often family activities on weekends. And then there's the view: take the escalator all the way to the top for a breathtaking view of all of Paris.

Palais de Tokyo

Palais de Tokyo

This enormous contemporary art center boasts stunning works and grand installations. The building itself, with its grand pillars and delightful café, is a real draw. Besides the art on display, they regularly organize shows, performances, and activities that are free to participate in.

This isn't a museum where you simply observe: it's a place where you become part of what's happening. In the summer, they host a pop-up terrace where you can enjoy art and a snack in the sun.
