NEXT Amsterdam in North: creative hub with ditto menu
Did you think you had already discovered all the hotspots in North? Not so! There is one that you should definitely not miss: NEXT NDSM. Located on the NDSM quay, and your new place that cannot be pigeonholed. Creative for sure, but that won't be any different if you settle on the NDSM site in Amsterdam North. What was once a gray and gray industrial area is now a vibrant breeding ground for everything that comes close to cool, hip, alternative and creative. NEXT as creative hub fits right in there. You can roll, walk or cycle straight into it from the NDSM ferry (not to be missed).
Founders Sjoerd Steenbeek and Michiel de Vries, who also work together on the always nice PLLEK, have created a spot here where eating out is a kick-ass night out! Throughout the day you can indulge in all kinds of cocktails and eat really tasty food in a cozy atmosphere vibe. Sink down on the comfy sofas and hang out on the terrace, at the booths and at the bar. The party continues after dinner, with music, a great atmosphere and hospitality that you can expect. Exuberant and cosmopolitan at the same time, bringing together all those open-minded people from all cultures and different bubbles. Are you an artist, party animal, drinker, coffee lover or culinary enthusiast? freak; You'll fit in anyway!
NEXT is a place where innovation, down-to-earth-ness and refined dishes from signature chef Jaimie van Heij and head chef Vilmos Dohnal meet. A reflection of the character of NEXT, a bit exciting but still accessible. Dare to ask for advice, because they know how to find the perfect one match wine-food combination.
And the interior? Also very cool. This was designed in collaboration with TANK, known for the A'DAM Tower and Hotel Arena, and the result is more than successful: large spaces feel intimate and small ones radiate grandeur. Nice! From a relaxed lounge, cozy private corners to an intimate dinner for two or a spacious table for a larger group. For the interior fanatics among us: hemp stucco has been used, bamboo for the stairs and instead of a TV they have an art installation above the bar, where projections are made on several layers of thin fabric.
You prefer to find us at the enormous round bar, where the bartenders are never not making cocktails. Did you already consider yourself a cocktail expert? Well, here they show what next level cocktail shake is. Flavor bombs of cocktails, and also quite unique mixes of ingredients: from corn, beurre noissete, wasabi to coffee. The cocktail menu reflects the image of Noord as the Brooklyn of Amsterdam: cool, innovative and trendiest at the same time, you want to taste this!
Plop into one of the love seats Down on the first floor at the window and then you get a view of the bustling NDSM site and the IJ for free. You're inside, but it feels like outside, because the sliding doors can be opened completely, so you get vitamin D and a fresh drink summer breeze no shortage. If you prefer to view this at the same height, then move on to the NEXT terrace. In short, wonderful place. Lots of commotion with all the cruise ships, small boats, Amsterdam residents and tourists, all with your head in the sun. Before you know it, you'll be there every day.
