New: Libertine Petit Café Amsterdam

Ah, the Noordermarkt, the front garden and our home base. And the address of the youngest Libertine member: Libertine Petit Café, previously described here on this site, but promptly lost during the transfer (we have a new site!). It doesn't matter, because now we know even more and better why we like to sit at this Libertine, the petit café...

Libertine Petit Café

Main reason: the location of course. Or no: the oh-so-friendly staff. The 'regular', somewhat older crew in particular deserves our flags and pennants and gold-dipped plumes: always a friendly chat, a nice high five and a good example for the young guard of Libertine Petit Café (who will hopefully be able to travel down the coast very quickly). watch, although they also lack cordiality). A breath of fresh air on the Noordermarkt. Although… Things always go well with Finch's neighbors. Went. Very soon things 'went well'. Because a little bird (Steven actually, one of Libertine's patrons) told us that – horror shock! – Finch has been sold! Not because things went badly, certainly not, but simply because Rob (the owner) had run out of cake. Big bad luck because the two things went together so wonderfully. It became even less fun when we heard that there was one Joe & the Juices in the Finch building... So far for the small entrepreneurs on the beautiful Noordermarkt.

So back to Libertine Petit Café where it is most fun, especially in the 'lost' hours. A quiet (late) breakfast on a weekday with a croissant and one of the freshly baked cakes. A late lunch, especially a late lunch (the husband thinks the Eggs Benedict from Libertine Petit Café is fantastic: nice and heavy as eggs Benedict should be with good slices of thick ham and I go so hard on the (gigantic! Go hungry) club sandwich with salmon. We also have a boost, dear Libertine team, but that is constructive criticism: the tuna club is ieieieiettttssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss That's a bit of a compliment. Kneesoor, because we'll be there again around half past four for a glass of wine (a very nice Riesling) and an oyster or something. Oh, and kudos to the new beautiful red leather covers on the sofas, they are so comfortable.
