New: Mollie's Motel & Diner

Okay, Mollie's Motel & Diner is located in Buckland, just below Oxford and I believe, but don't quote me on it, that this is not officially the Cotswolds. But less than an hour's drive and you'll be there, and besides, this region, whether it's called the Cotswolds or not, is beautiful. And everything the people behind the Soho House hotels do is just that. So let's put our hands together for our Mollie.

Nick Jones, founder and chief executive of the Soho House group, listens carefully to his customers: while hardly anyone will argue that his hotels are not crazy and beautiful, a Soho House room cannot exactly be called affordable. But hey, then you also have something, that's Jones' philosophy. Although the businessman is of course not one to be fooled and so a new concept was introduced: Mollies. A collection of American motels with a look & feel of the 1s with the opening of the first branch in Oxfordshire (near the Soho Farmhouse, one of my top favorites ever, a XNUMX-minute drive away).

What does a room do at Mollies? Just under 57 euros (50 pounds). Usually that's a price that only applies if you're lucky but we just tried to book and lo and behold, we actually got plenty of rooms for 2 for £50! If only we had time to go… Still to come! Otherwise we will wait for the opening of the next Mollies, because they are coming: Manchester and Bristol are planned.

A perfect new place to sleep, and more to come. But the Soho's wouldn't be the Soho's if there wasn't more: in addition to the 79 rooms (there are connecting family rooms, rooms with bunk beds and rooms for two with king-size beds, Egyptian cotton sheets and high-pressure rain showers. And of course the delicious Cowshed products , they are also there) you can eat in the diner and there is a drive tru! How nice. Mollie's Diner serves American classics, of course, starting with an all day breakfast (eggs, avocado on toast, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, waffles and healthy bowls). During lunch and dinner you can sit down - or drive by - for nachos and a shrimp cocktail and - of course - a Dirty Burger, rotisserie and mac & cheese. But there is also a range of vegetarian dishes such as the Filthy Burger, a vegetarian burger in a beetroot bun.
