Half an hour's drive from Lisbon, right on the beach, in the north of Ericeira, at the surf spot of Portugal, lies this oh so incomparably beautiful guesthouse: Olá Onda Ericeira. A guesthouse on top of a hill that is, with a spacious garden full of beautiful greenery, a swimming pool and in the not too distant distance the sea.

But let's back up in time… Because almost a year and a half ago there was an old and dilapidated house on that same spot Dutch couple Darcie and Jasper have bought to emigrate to together Portugal and make their dream of opening a guesthouse come true.

For Darcie with her Portuguese background (because: mother from Portugal) and Jasper with his love for the country and their shared passion for traveling and surfing (Olá Onda = hello golf), there was no doubt about that amazing place.

They completely renovated the building for 10 months. But really. And we can be happy with that too, because it turned out fantastic. Sleek, stylish rooms, in which almost everything is homemade, otherwise it was specially made for Darcie and Jasper, completely according to their wishes and exactly as they had in mind for their one of a kind Olá Onda in Ericeira Portugal. Although that is also because there is talk about the Portuguese furniture stores cannot really be said yet and these two. Oh well, the two, and all their helping friends and family, are super creative themselves. All good.

Create a guesthouse with a story, for everyone who likes surfing (especially for beginners), the ocean, beautiful beaches, pastries (pastel de nata!!!!), wine, nature and the Portuguese culture holds.

Olá Onda has five spacious rooms and each room can accommodate 2 to 3 guests. Oh, and next winter this couple will take on another challenge: they will also renovate the other house on the property. There will be a kitchen here, making the address even more perfect for those who want to visit the Portuguese countryside with the family.

Oh, did I mention it's only a 10 minute walk to the beach and it typical Portuguese fishing village - with white and blue houses! - Ericeira? And that there are yoga sessions every Sunday morning in the aforementioned green garden? Right, so go, to Olá Onda in Ericeira!
