Favorite breakfast spots in London

There you are, comfortable big ol' London. Being able to sleep in a bit, because there is no alarm clock to work or children, cats/dogs pulling on your blanket. Not too late either - the Thames, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and all the very nice hidden ones gems after all, they want to be seen. But first things first: where to have breakfast and also see something of the city? We reach you on one silver platter our favorite breakfast spots in London. Lots (lots) of eggs, toast and bacon, but also so much more.

You are also covered for lunch, brunch, dinner, snacks and drinks, because we have a nice list London.

The Riding House Café

The Riding House Café

Still a favorite where we like, really like, to come. The breakfast menu is wonderfully extensive and always sufficient. Whether you want a light or heavy breakfast, healthy or less healthy (buttermilk pancakes are not unhealthy, otherwise you can have a fantastic smoothie with it). The lunch and evening menu is also wonderful in the category value for money: definitely coming back. In a nutshell it is The Riding House Café a damn clever combination of hip and happening ? c. In c are they doing well, because have you ever seen a cup of hollandaise on your menu? No, except here. The Riding House Café is hidden in no fewer than three locations.

Greenberry

Greenberry

It is more than half an hour's walk (which is nothing) from Oxford Street (comparable to Kalverstraat/De Dam in terms of crowds and tourists) and it feels like you have left London: Primrose Hill. It is not without reason that it is loved by both true Londoners and the majority of film directors. After walking to the top of the hill and taking in views across London, meander down to Regents Park Road and be showered with English cuteness and deliciousness. Where to have breakfast/lunch? Bee Greenberry. One of the few lunchrooms in London where the queue out the door is not unjustified. Definitely don't miss: the vegetarian one two eggs with halloumi and avo on sourdough. Need an extra shot of energy? Then take another one wellness latte with exciting spices. Choose from three different ones, but we are in love with the one blue algae with rose water, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. What a delicious coffee that is.

Nice breakfast, but now ready for a nice restaurant? We also have one nice list in front of.

Granger & Co.

Granger & Co.

The fairy tale of Notting Hill is run by a great Australian chef. You will find this nice place at Granger & Co. Installed by restaurateur Bill Granger in the most beautiful part of Notting Hill (and no, that is not Portobello Road). Breakfast, lunch, dinner – everything is delicious, but if we have to choose, breakfast/brunch is the favorite. And a just a little different than usual (ricotta hot cakes or how about them Fresh Aussie). If possible: go during the week so that you don't end up on the waiting list at the weekend. Definitely worth the wait, but preferably not of course. Due to great success, it can also be found in Chelsea Clerkenwell and King's Cross, but this one remains the best.

May May

In Borough Market, say the Food Halls of London but older, you can find plenty of food around you. Our attention was drawn by the pastel colors of kopitiam (a coffee shop that you often find in South-East Asia). Mei Mei was founded by Singaporean Elizabeth Haigh, who was awarded a Michelin star in 2017. At Mei Mei you get breakfast – as well as lunch, coffee and tea – from Singapore with eggs 'n' toast. A bit different than usual, yes, because it wouldn't be Asian without coconut. So put coconut jam and butter on the bread, and then dip it in those soft eggs. A cup teh tarik there and you Asian-English breakfast is complete. Bigger appetite? No problem, one side with it, delicious with curry or hainanese chicken rice. Mei Mei is not for the extremely early birds – the stools are ready for you from 11:00 am (some days 10:00 am).

Mud

Mud

Mud is one of the first places in Tooting where you can get delicious coffee - and breakfast, brunch and lunch - and the coffee is still good, just like in these places. A nice one laid back vibe comes like a breath of fresh air, perhaps due to the Australian influences that London occasionally has beach feel gives. Mud is popular among the locals and the cozy space, where you mainly see bricks and reclaimed wood, fills up quickly. Both inside and outside. There is also a super nice courtyard where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the street where Mud makes its home. What we like to eat at Mud: everything. Classic eggs benny, smashed avo or deliciously spicy Turkish eggs, but the very best is 'The Garden'. It seems as if there is a cheerful garden on your plate that is also healthy. So have fun.

Bistrotheque

Bistrotheque

Every now and then we can also treat ourselves and have a wonderful time. And we don't mean a good cocktail with brunch every now and then - not that we show that here, in fact, certainly not here -  then we just want the whole package. Bee Bistrotheque. Don't get up too early, nice table in it industrial chic restaurant and keep the good food coming. Even the Side be put on a real one silver platter – yes, we feel a bit like Megan. With the beautiful wooden bar, the grand piano, and especially the lots of light, we wake up peacefully here. Brunch only on weekends, that's how it stays soft shell crab extra special. Bistrotheque can be found in South Hackney, near Victoria Park.

Bell's Cafe

Bell's Cafe

In Bermondsey you will find the Spa Garden and the typical park café Bell's Café. A wonderful place with popping colours where they serve straight forward sandwiches. Nothing fuss, just what you need from a British-Mediterranean touch. And no queues, which is nice if you've just gotten out of bed. So settle down on the terrace with a mezze and a view of the park, or just take your panini for a morning walk. You immediately get two birds with one stone. Bell's is the hero who combines the known old with the unknown new – although probably also old in the Mediterranean. Because you can also get a sandwich with fish fingers here (delicious for the kids, but the nostalgia is also good for us), but there are also gozleme and bazlama (Turkish delicacies).
