Pastorie Balegem: picture perfect retreat
Do you want to be enchanted? Pastorie Balegem is such a unique place to stay where you want to disappear. The beautiful parsonage is a monument - thank God - and is located at the foot of the Ardennes and a stone's throw from Ghent.
From the moment you stand in front of the door you think 'wow' and that continues for a while inside. From the huge hall you can peek into the different rooms. The living room, dining room, children's playroom and don't forget to look down because the floor alone is picture perfect. Everything is right: the interior, the art and the design in carefully composed colors. And yes, the brands are there (Eames, HAY, you name it). We fell completely in love with the meter-long table where an amazing breakfast is laid out in the morning.
The parsonage has three rooms, one with a bath and a large family room. All located on the first floor. Once in the room, the only question is whether to take a bath first or just laze around. If you manage to tear yourself away from all the delicious food inside, we recommend Distillery van Damme outside the door. More fun? Mieke knows all the gems in the area and provides good tips.
