Camping without sacrificing comfort; that's exactly what you'll find here. Don't feel like lugging a tent? Then the campsite offers unique glamping options like a dome with sky view and a modern gypsy wagon. Everything is meticulously taken care of, and if you wish, you can even have your own bathroom. There's plenty of space for the kids to run wild and a surprising playground to keep them occupied throughout the entire holiday. Cycling, walking, relaxing—there's plenty to do. In the morning, you can pick up delicious sourdough bread from the bakery at Restaurant Vroeg, where you can also dine in the evening. Another recommendation is restaurant Bij Teus in Houten. Restaurant Wereld van Weelde opened in the spring of 2025 near the lovely neighboring hiking area of Nieuw-Wulven.

One of the most unique accommodations on this list is the Log cabin boat. Or rather, boats. You can board your own log cabin boat at four locations in the Netherlands; De Bommelerwaard, De Biesbosch, Het land van Maas en Waal and De Linge. A boating license is not required and any adult can sail it. You will come to places you would otherwise not go to, not even by car. You will not get any closer to nature. The boat is quite basic, but comfortable. There is a toilet on board (although you can of course also hang over the edge..) and on the aft deck you will even find a lovely warm outdoor shower. A canoe is included as standard and sup boards can be booked.
Campina Staete is a small-scale holiday park located in the forests of Oisterwijk, on the edge of the Kampina nature reserve. The location is ideal for nature lovers, with numerous cycling and walking routes through the Oisterwijk forests and fens. There are various activities possible, such as yoga lessons, forest bathing with the forest ranger, or simply relaxing in the hot tub. From Kampina Staete you can also quickly reach the center of Oisterwijk. Full of restaurants, cafes and Brabant hospitality. In Barts Best of Oisterwijk find the proof.
De Bumblebee Cabin in the Brabant Diessen is almost as cute as a real bumblebee. In the interior hardly any yellow and black, but a lot of color. Inside a cheerful peach-colored dining table, outside a mint green picnic table. You can even sit there when it is cold, because there is also an outdoor fireplace. Just like a sauna, in case the fire is not warm enough for you. The cabin is located in the small-scale wooded park 'Kempenbos', where you will not quickly experience any nuisance from other guests and residents. Tilburg and Eindhoven are close by, as are the Efteling and the Beekse Bergen.
A tiny house, but not that tiny. At Stek's outdoor area You can actually fit five of you in there! It's certainly cozy, but you still have plenty of space. And hey – you have the woods and all sorts of nature within easy reach, so you can really let loose there too. But honestly: for a tiny house, Buitenplek van Stek is surprisingly spacious. You can all fit on the sofa, and the most cozy corner of the house is around the pallet fireplace. There's definitely an outdoor area too: a large dining table, chairs for lounging, and a BBQ for when the sun shines (although we're also big fans of a winter BBQ). Because you're at Holiday Park de Vossenberg, it's not completely secluded, but there is plenty of privacy.
Camping City and Country is a small-scale, attractive campsite in Ommeren and everything you are looking for for a bit of fun. Fun with the little stuff, but also fun without it. Everything is completely without obligation (eating is allowed, but certainly fun is also allowed, but nothing is obligatory) and everything is taken care of down to the last detail.

We know Limburg from the hills, pies, Maastricht (duh), the white gold and… Marlstone. The ultimate sleeping, Limburg style, you do that in a Mergelhoeve. Or actually: you do that at Brookerhof. You will find Dwingelderveld National Park in Drenthe Holiday Park De Wiltzangh. The kind of place where you want to spend time with the whole family, because it is beautiful. From 30 Cuber Suites can be found in the heart of the Veluwe. The suites are located in various places on the edge of the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Hoenderloo. Truly one of the most beautiful parts of Dutch nature that you can imagine. Promise. The first thing you immediately notice are the large windows suite, which gives the room a lot of light and, as it were blend with nature. You can easily spot a wild boar or deer. Just from your bed or on the couch, ha! Inside it is further decorated with dark colors, which makes the suite look very chic looks. And if there is a clear night in sight, you can enjoy it from the kingsize in bed gazing at the starry sky with my husband/partner. All right. You will also find a real rain shower with a glass ceiling and a giant terrace with an outdoor fireplace. And yes dear people. You just want to experience this. Real.
There are plenty of places in the well-known, pleasant Brabant to turn off. After all, that's what we're looking for. One such place is nature camping Heart Green, in the De Maashorst nature reserve. You can camp in nature on meadows or with a view over the water. There are also cozy tents, Tiny Houses, a hostel and cabins. Besides relaxing there, there is also a lot to do. Come to the living room 't Hart, where you can read a book from the extensive library by the fireplace or play a game from the games cupboard. There is a long reading table and a cozy sitting area. In the meantime, the little ones can get rid of their energy in the play area 'De Binnenpret' or in one of the natural playgrounds. You can also enjoy lots of goodies every day in De Boshut. From a delicious breakfast, tasty lunch to generous snack platters with regional products. Coffee with delicious pastries. Dozens of fresh beers and fine wines. Joepie delicious soup or, if you like sausage, real Brabant sausage rolls.
Up for adventure? Then you've come to the right place. In Drenthe you can spend the night in the middle of the Dutch wilderness, at Cabiner. Eight nature houses are hidden in the middle of the Drentsche Aa nature reserve. With the help of a map, you go through the forest and eventually arrive at your Cabiner. You open this Cabin using a numerical code and the adventure really begins. The water must be pumped from the ground, the wood chopped and the stove stoked. Everything for a warm house, otherwise just a shame. The Cabins are all durable and there is no WiFi available, so just switch it off. You will receive a packing list a few days before departure, but the most important things to remember are walking shoes, bed linen and towels. Sounds like an adventurous idea, right?
We may say it often, that's true, but you're only as good as your last match, right? Well: Buitenhuys family, with the finest places to stay throughout the Netherlands, is playing a game of Eredivisie football that commands respect.
We really mean it when we say after a weekend in one of the four Familie Buitenhuys places that we have rarely seen a nicer house. They are unique in their kind. Every house is different, but one thing is certain: you can relax, recharge and recover in all four. Remarkable, normally we want to during a get away We like to go out, or, well, do some things, but during a weekend at one of the places of Familie Buitenhuys we like to stay indoors.
This Tiny gift is located on the Veluwe, near Nunspeet. Not only can you step straight into the forest outside, but inside it is also a big nature festival through the large windows. Noyr is located on a small campsite near a forest. Not completely detached, but because this tiny house is located under large trees and you can walk straight into the forest within five minutes, Noyr certainly counts as Escape to the green.
A raised bed in a large window, that of course provides a picture-perfect prospect. NOYR has a unique, asymmetrical design and is fully equipped. You will find a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Even in winter you are covered NOYR well insulated and keeps you nice and warm. Noyr is simply a picture, both inside and out.
The Forest is Calling. And it does. The Robbenoordbos to be precise. We don't go there every day (it is located in North Holland), although there is every reason to do so, because the forest is calling and the outdoors beckons. Also for comfort seekers: everything is ready, you just have to be there. You just walk your own path cabin at the park, the Forest Cabin to be precise, inside. And in my humble opinion, it is the most beautiful spot in Het Bos Roept. Because: a fixed bed, small kitchen and a wood stove. Still a few advantages. You can shower in the campsite's bathhouse, but there is a toilet available, which saves you a number of trips to the toilet roll. Naturally, the bed is made, the towels are ready and a fresh breakfast is delivered to your door every morning. Do we need to reveal more?
Nature and design? Want to get away from it all but with all the comfort? Charging in the middle of greenery and with a beautiful interior that you want to take home with you? Yes to all this?
Pack that suitcase and turn off your phone, because on to Coco's Country House in Nunspeet! Enjoy a weekend (or during the week, everything is in consultation) with the two of you. On the Hoge Veluwe you can sleep in a beautiful, black-painted house in the middle of the forest that belongs to the former forester's house. A dreamy wooden house just outside Apeldoorn. When you arrive, you can simply pass the no-entry sign for once. Once inside the light, white-lacquered interior, hopefully (it may not always be a party, but the aim is there) an apple pie will be ready. Rugs on the floor, wooden details, small antlers on the wall and, bonus points, a black wood-burning stove. Although those bonus points can also go to the glass roof in the livingThis allows you to look over the treetops during the day and admire the starry sky in the evening while lounging on the sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped; there are more than enough pots and pans to cook a delicious meal, a good idea after a trip across the Veluwe. The cottage is perfect for two and possibly a few toddlers. Unfortunately, dogs are not welcome. Breakfast is included, as are two bicycles, fresh bed linen, and a collection of fresh magazines.
The White House is exactly that, nowadays, a small white house in the middle of the forest. Although in the last century it was still the billiard room of the landlord of the adjacent country house. The new owners thought - and we can thank them for that - that the house would make a beautiful country retreat, for themselves and for guests. Romantic and beautiful, that's what it is. 't Witte Huis Buitenplaats de Horte is located in the woods of Overijssel and was decorated by By Mölle (just google it). And although the interior design makes you want to sit inside all day, the highlight of which is crawling under soft gray bed linen, you have no choice but to head out. Literal. In the middle of the forest, close to Arnhem, you will find the lodges van Petersburg country estate. These are with the Hoge Veluwe as a backyard lodges ideal to relax for a while. They are exactly what you expect: dark wood, cozy, warmly decorated, a bit romantic if you ask us and above all very tasteful. All rooms are equipped with everything you need for the perfect holiday getaway, including a large double kingsise bed. There are various activities to do in the area, including walking across the Hoge Veluwe. But also activities such as Burgers Zoo, the Open Air Museum, the Kröller-Möller Museum or a day trip into the city of Arnhem. There is of course also a good chance (a very good chance) that you will stay in that Kingzise bed, you're right, we would probably do that too. For a bit natureness you have come to the right place at Buitenplaats Petersburg.
In the heart of the Veluwe, half hidden between the trees and surrounded by one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, is the Weaver Lodge. A beautiful hotel, small and nice with its own bistro. The Veluwe is actually special enough in itself, but De Wever Lodge goes one step further. Everything here revolves around the love of nature (you are really in the middle of it) and it is craftsmanship and quality that count. De go to of North Brabant. In the Schaijk holiday park, the Maashorst nature reserve. This holiday spot really has everything you want in a holiday home. When you arrive at the location, everything is ready for you, the beds are already nicely made and the toys for the kids are already ready. The garden is 500m2 and is a dream come true, it even has a hot tub. This holiday home also has a separate yoga workspace (too cool, right?). This house is really the getaway you needed.
You can also move into Gelderland The Old Sunday School, an old, yes, school with a private forest where you and five others will find the ultimate retreat. Privacy, space, peace and comfort are the key words for this wonderful holiday home in nature.
On the ground floor of the old school there is a spacious living with seating area and a modern open kitchen: sitting at the dining table you look out over the surrounding meadows and your own forest for a while. There is also a bathroom downstairs (there is even a laundry room with washing machine - very handy). Upstairs are the two bedrooms with five hotel-quality beds. In the third, small room, there is a sixth bed. You can provide your own food and drinks, but everything for the first breakfast and/or a drink on arrival can be provided.
It is in Egmond all year round nice place to stay. Then treat yourself to a wonderful stay at Ory aan ZeeThen you won't want to go home at all. The beach is literally within walking distance, for that ultimate get-away-from-it-all feeling.

All ideal if you are with a (large) family or group of friends looking for a place to get some fresh air and recharge.
Maja's Hideaway is located deep in the forest on the Veluwe and is such a wonderfully unique place, especially thanks to the efforts from owners Lucinda and Jaap. Maja's Hideaway is designed in such a way that you can completely immerse yourself in the forest at night (if you're lucky, a deer will even walk by) and Jaap built everything himself, with the help of his son Maarten (Ma-Ja, did you ' m?). In the middle of the forest, but with a king-size bed and a beautiful chesterfield in the sitting area.
Boshuis Nooitgedacht is your go to in Appelscha, Friesland. Everything is cozy and lovely, with a touch of vintage and a wonderful wood-burning stove to stoke in the evenings. You don't have to go far for a breath of fresh air every day: you can walk straight into Het Drents Friese Wold National Park. A retreat just the way we like it.
Boshuis Nooitgedacht has three bedrooms (two double beds and a bunk bed), so it is also very suitable for larger families!
, Let's just come right out with it: Friesland is the favorite. Something about roots and the love for beautiful views. And for pure, real, fresh and expansive. That said, we introduce you to a gem in the far north: Atelier Gaasterland. Do you want to go, do you have to go, everything. Atelier Gaasterland There is a retreat in Oudemirdum deluxe. Away from everything, but not back to basics. In fact, the interior of the accommodation exudes so much colorful design that you spontaneously want to change everything at home. More about that later. Let's start with the route there, because that's where true relaxation begins. Gaasterland in the southwest of Friesland is more wooded and rolling than we are used to in the north and is also the region at its most beautiful. Meadows, the dike along the IJsselmeer, cliffs and the occasional farm. Rest.
Beekhuizen estate is located in the middle Veluwezoom National Park. The luxury campsite has been a reality since 2016 and the lodge tents and pods of the country estate have been a real hit from day one. The (bush) pods are especially popular: the wooden houses with a classic English design in a modern design are wonderful all year round (book the superior pod during cold days, as this version has underfloor heating), but in the summer it is best : all cabins have an outdoor shower; it's like Bali. Furthermore, all pods have a made-up bed upon arrival and high-speed WiFi. That's not what we came for, but I have to admit: it is still very nice. You can comfortably stay in the pods with four people (two people on the sofa bed) and the BBQ is ready and waiting in front of the door. If you get bored of that BBQ, you can also spend an evening at the cozy 'pop-up' restaurant WOODZ. That pop-up is in quotes: that's what the group calls their restaurant because WOODZ is not always open, but is open occasionally throughout the year.
We cheered many, many times Sweet House Zeeland; the lovely holiday home in the Zeeland hamlet of Turkeye in the municipality of Waterlandkerkje (both very small). The house is a perfect base for a weekend (or longer) away for the two of you, out of the city. The second house White House Zeeland is just such a lovely place. The same owner, the same environment, the same casual, just-right styling and ideal with a little one. Het Wit Huisje is slightly more spacious than Lief Huisje and the garden is spacious: especially in the summer months, a great place to bake (mom and dad) or play (you know who). There is a lovely bath, you can walk or cycle in no time to the beach. House number three is Baking house Zeeland is also a fact: cozy, romantic, colorful in a styled just right. All three wonderful places with lots of peace, but also close to everything fun (like this list Barts Best of West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen).
In a fantastic spot in the forest you will find a forest garden where you can eat, sleep and of course rest. They went from pop-up to outdoor hotel and Terra Wolde is the name.
What started as a pop-up has been transformed into an outdoor hotel. You will now find two Yurts, a forest house with its own sanitary facilities and wood stove and a forest hotel room. And luxury, yes they know that too; you will find a for-rest lodge including a hot tub. The Bell Tents will remain standing for a while.
This Gguest house in Eefde you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend (with your favorite people - there are quite a few people in the house). A stylishly renovated stable with a beautiful garden that we are only too complimentary about. And the Guesthouse has a sister! Welcome, nice Coach house! Slightly smaller, but still big enough for four people and on the same plot as the Guesthouse, without having to bother each other. Eefde is a small town in Gelderland. Lots of farmlands and not too far from Deventer, Apeldoorn and the Veluwe. Plenty of room for walking, cycling, exploring nice villages and around the corner you will find a karting track and climbing forest for your dose of adrenaline. Or of course just stay at your Guesthouse/Coach House and enjoy the peace and quiet there. All sounds good.
This gypsy wagon should be on your bucket list if you like to stay in cool and special places. On Camping De Vriendschap This charming gypsy wagon is shining brightly in Putten. Tiny, with a double bed, a dining table, and a kitchen. You can shower and use the toilet in the toilet block a little further away, and for the rest, you just have to enjoy the nature around you. The campsite is located right by the forest, and the surroundings here are beautiful.
Campsite Stortemelk is a true island classic, but those who do not want to pitch a tent can book one of the eighteen. Forest housesThese sustainable wooden designer cottages are hidden in the pine forest, right behind the dunes. Each cottage has a unique design, such as the 'Beukennoot' with a glass roof to look at the stars from your bed. Inside, it is cozy with a pellet stove, while outside you sit on your own forest terrace with the sound of the waves in the background. The perfect hideaway where you combine the absolute tranquility of nature with the beach around the corner.
