The Piushaven in Tilburg: these are the nicest places on the water
De Piushaven Tilburg is already a hundred years old, but has been buzzing with activity in recent years. Boats bob in the water, terraces are popping up everywhere, and it's teeming with charming restaurants and cafes. In short: a cheerful melting pot of food, drinks, and fun by the water. Pulcinos Pulcinos has always been a hit in Tilburg, but since the end of 2023, they've swapped the small restaurant for the perfect location at Piushaven. Pulcinos is bigger and better at Piushaven and is on par with the city's biggest names.
Tilburg will have a major new hotspot from the summer of 2025: Ted's All Day BrunchYou might already know it from Amsterdam, Leiden, or Utrecht, and now it's also at the Piushaven, in the iconic "Kappersboot" (Barber Boat). Eggs Benedict with your morning coffee? Okay. Espresso martini with lunch? Perfect too. And yes, you can also order that juicy burger or fruity French toast at four o'clock in the afternoon. Inside, you'll find cozy nooks and crannies, and outside, a large, sunny terrace on the water. Teds the answer is actually always yes.
Tilburg has a nice new hotspot: The Grain Trade At Piushaven. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks – it's all possible here, all in a charming building right on the water. Fun fact: this place used to be a grain and flour mill.
At RAK You're practically sitting on the water. In the sleek, steel-framed building with glass walls, you're surrounded by water both inside and outside on the covered terrace. And that harbor vibe immediately creates a pleasant atmosphere. The menu features classics with a delicious twist. And although they themselves don't use many frills, we think the dishes look wonderfully festive. RAK is a place where you always feel comfortable.
A colorful villa with a restaurant, courtyard and a few hotel rooms (just in case). Villa la Vida It's colorful, inviting, and just as cosmopolitan as the menu: dishes from Peru, Jordan, and Mexico are cheerfully juxtaposed. From breakfast to late-night cocktail hours, everything is possible. Bonus points for the lovely waterfront terrace, where you can catch some rays in the summer.
